Shane
It all started with the Perth Win. Winning the CB series in Oz (Both the final) Coming from behind to square a series against a fiesty SA side. Delhi winning the Ranji trophy ...... ok not that. Successfully Staging the IPL ... the first of its kind in the World Reaching the finals of two evenly contested tourneys (Asia Cup and that Bangladeshi tourney) Beat Sri Lanka convincingly in the ODI's THRASHED the Aussies in the Test Series would be an understatement Beat England 5-0 in the ODI's Then finally capped of the excellent display with a 1-0 win the Test Series against the POMS. What a year it has been for Indian Cricket ... cant wait for 2009 and the No.1 Tag which are eagerly awaiting Link to comment

amits
and things u have missed out emergence of gambhir - avg of 70+ in tests this year, and >1000 runs in both odis & tests. playing well against all opponents in all conditions in all types of team situations comeback of sehwag - after being written off in odis, scores @ 49 avg & 120 sr in odis. and in tests, turns around matches in just 5-6 overs scoring over 1400 runs and that too at 85 sr. and forming an amazing opening stand in each of 20/20, odis & tests with gambhir captaincy of dhoni - took charge of a team in ruins after the 2007 wc debacle & transformed it into the no.1 team in all forms of the game. and also adjusted his batting to suit the team requirements getting the best fast-bowling attack in the world - with zaheer reverse swinging the ball both ways & ishant bowling at >150 kph with movement, we suddenly got the best fast bowling attack in the world & our fast bowlers even won us a test match against aus in a super-fast pitch in perth Link to comment

Indus_Army
Good points Shane & amit$! I agree that it has been an excellent year for Indian cricket. Despite the retirements of Kumble & Dada, there seems to be enough solidity in the line-up. Yuvraj seems to be stepping it up at the right time and whatever I have seen of Mishra gives me a lot of hope our leg spinning prowess. Vijay also fitted into the order like a seasoned pro. Bring on 2009:two_thumbs_up: Link to comment
