With Laser Eye Surgery, there is a small risk of going blind. Once that happens, theres no going back. Ditto, me too. Dude, if you cant contribute to the discussion with some constructive info, the minimum you can do is stop scaring people with misinformed BS.

Do you actually know of anyone who did lasik surgery to his eyes and went blind, or even had problems later? Please don’t tell me you came across ‘stuff on the internet…’ Couple of things; No.1; At a minimum you owe it to people to not spread misinformation, because your random line may potentially put off someone who’s genuinely considering this procedure, which is criminal because I am pretty sure you don’t know a thing about this procedure No.2; Is there a risk in this procedure? There probably is, like there’s in anything. There’s risk that your brakes might fail, but does that stop you from driving your car? Again, I am not speaking from 3rd party accounts. I had this procedure done to me and I know of dozens (not one or two, but DOZENS) of people who had it done as well and until now, I have not come across a single instance of even minor issues. In all the instances, the success rate has been 100%.

One of my friend told me if you have less than 5 or 6, you will get rid of glasses but if you have more like 9, 10 etc your number will reduce only, you still have to use glasses of comparatively lower number...

I heard PRK don’t involve any process of cutting the corneal tissue and making the new flap etc, hence the only part which I am afraid off is not there... but I also heard it takes a bit longer in vision recovery as compared to LASIK... Thinking since years to have for my eyes but confused confused confused :(

What could be the reason of such huge difference, could it be because of better technology in ind or what? or by the way does it involve any better or more safe technology vs less safe etc? I just checked prices internationally in web and most of them are bw 2000 to 3000$ OMG! and here we have only in 300 to 400$ maximum...

Again, i dont know the exact details of the hospitals/facilities you're looking at, but at a high level, i can tell you that this isnt equipment a hospital can buy a cheaper version of.. In terms of cost, again, if my memory serves me right, it cost me 30,000 rs + medicine back in 2006. That was nearly 5 years ago. I can only imagine the prices have probably gone down even further. Quick tip; Dont ever try to compare healthcare costs in the west versus India/Pakistan. Here in the Amreeka, they charge you $200 if you just walk past the hospital..

It may seem like a very safe procedure and all -- going by your account, it probably is -- but if the decision were up to me personally, I won't do it.

Well, right thanks for reply bro and you know wot, mine is -11, it started with -6 when I came to know at age of 10 and doc told me number will increase slowly till you reach age: 24, 25 and later on I also came to know that only then it will be p[erated, if I want to... Now I am 28 and thanks God it has stopped at -11 and I am actually very badly confused now whether or not I should go for it, the disadvantage I have is: it will reduce to around -5 only even if I get a LASIK and so I still have to used glasses... but at the same time I am worried... God forbit if it went even more than -11 :( what you suggest?

I came to know it is actually weak when I was 10 or 11, started with glasses of -5 in that age, then after each 1 or 2 years it kept on increasing 0.5... 6.5, 7, 7.5 and now 11... Yes it was too thick till few years back but now there are glasses called "high index" which are not too thick, almost 40% of regular one but yes still its quite heavy... and even there are no contact lense available exactly of this number with my particular angles etc...

Again, I not an expert in this so I don’t want to give incorrect information/advice. But I do seem to remember that one of my relatives had a similar problem (extreme eye correction) and I think she did have this procedure on her eyes as well. So maybe there’s a glimmer of hope there. But surely, rather than asking perfect strangers on the internet for help, why don’t you schedule an appointment with a credible eye specialist in your city/town. He/she should be able to give the answers for all your questions in 30 mins.
