CSK Fan Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 firstly its not players but PCB who is destroying Pak Cricket....Pakistan was a gr8 team in 90s.... Reason aggressive batsmen and bowlers... IMO,our current Indian team is better version of Pakistan team of 90s... reason we have more aggressive batsmen and good Pace attack ....i dont wanna see those 90s style Indian players....if we want to #1, we have to be aggressive in batting, bowling and fielding... and Yes for me, there is nothing called losing with dignity...i rather get all out chasing 320 than a final score of 220/2...... Do you really think Yuvraj or Sehwag is worried about their strike rate or whats good for their team? Do you know who was our best ODI batsman in 2008? Dhoni. And he did it by lowering his strike rate and being less agressive than before. You are right we have a good pace attack but not the fastest. They are good not becuase they can bowl fast but because they are effective. Similarly Gambhir, after Dhoni is one of our best ODI bats. More than his agression, its his consistancy whcih had made him indispensible in all 3 forms of the game. Lastly, Indian team has ben winnign so much more not becuase they have suddenly become more agressive but becuase EVRYONE is contributing and playing as a team rather than worry about strike rate or fastest ball.
rahulrulezz Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Rahul' date=' u prefer T20 or Test Matches ???[/quote'] i prefer Test match but answer to your question is "it depends" ...i m not a Purist.... if a boring, dull team like England, Bangladesh is playing...then Yes, T20.. exception Flintoff spells in any formm are a treat to watch.. but if teams with an exciting bowling and batting attack like Australia, India, West Indies are playing, then Test Cricket ....

Rahul dude, u do understand that RJad is not all about block ... block. Havent u seen the last year's IPL, the manner in which he flayed the bowling coming at no.7, the u-19 WC, or the Duleep Trophy match last year. Dude, i am not making domestic references just to show his pedigree in the game, but to say that he can spank it too if he wants to, it was his first game at the International stage today, in a cause where the series had already been settled, he had two options 1.) Do a Pathan, try and smash it and get out, and the team bundles out for 200, we loose, and he has got nothing to show for the selectors 2.) Or be realistic, understand the situtation, play the ball on its merit U consider urself to be a rookie cricketer and tell me which option would u choose

With first point, atleast India has a chance to win... with 2nd option, its more like a selfish act...but chalo i got ur point and its fair
Sachinism Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 He's not a Kaify type batsmen (I didnt watch the match today~) but seeing him bat before, he is totally capable of playing the big shots
cochise Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Jadeja or Yusuf Pathan for ODI side? Waddya reckon?
cowboysfan Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Jadeja or Yusuf Pathan for ODI side? Waddya reckon? both?
cowboysfan Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Is there space? it depends on how jadeja continues to improve as a loi bowler-i think he will be in the team-if not now than in a year or two.
rahulrulezz Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 there are people who are asking Y. Pathan to be replaced by Jadeja... Yousuf Pathan is levels ahead of Jadeja... its shame that Jadeja was promoted ahead of Y.Pathan... I was always right about R.Sharma and I'll still say that Jadeja is not the player India is looking for....
Shane Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Played a good hand, 19 from 16 and 4 overs for 21 !!!
amits Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 jadeja can replace harbhajan singh as the specialist spinner in odis
Lord Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 jadeja can replace harbhajan singh as the specialist spinner in odis :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
cowboysfan Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 looks good so far but needs more international exposure-2 more ipls and he will be great.
fineleg Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 looks good so far but needs more international exposure-2 more ipls and he will be great. Good yes, great not sure. He'll be a handy option for us in the squad.
Guest Hiten. Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I still haven't watched Jadeja's innings vs SL (5th ODI). I did see him bat vs NZ in 2nd T20 but there he had to slog which he did convincingly. As a bowler he did a pretty good job against the lankans and NZ. I guess we are missing yet another trick by sending him back to India instead of playing him in the ODI's. Selection has been pretty pathetic given that they the missed the trick of picking RP for either of the squads. I do not know how can Balaji make a comeback in the domestic fixture for merely 7 games only. He surely did bowl good but what is the guarantee that he won't break-down after making an international comeback ? He did not look anything except a hopping Kangaroo vs SL.
Shane Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 ^^ Agree Completely with your bit on RJad, we could/should have retained him !!!
