Thought it would coincide with India rising to no.1 position in ODI rankings.That didn't happen ! nevertheless an amazing feat !! Following is the briefing by Gambit while we were touching 5000 mark. Let me give you an idea of how big we've become. This board was launched on 23rd Oct 2006. We hit the 1000 members mark on 27th June 2007. That's 1000 members in 9 months. We hit the 2000 members mark on 16th September 2007. Thats an additional 1000 in 2 and 1/2 months. We hit the 3000 members mark on 16th November 2007. Another 1000 in 2 months. We hit the 4000 members mark on 22nd Feb 2008. Another 1000 in 3 months. We hit the 5000 member mark on 17th June 2008. Another 1000 in 3 and half months. Journey from 5000 to 6000 took this long only coz they have disallowed automatic registration and member acceptance has become stricter. PS. dunno whether anyone other than Admins or Mods are allowed to start these sort of threads :nervous:

It's heartening to see that the next wave of posters(SachDan,bluebrigade,DomainK,flamy,holysmoke,ludhianvi,zubinpepsi,DirtySouth,graphic23,desicartman,h4te,Shane, cochise,msb1991, Fontaine,sarchasm,Sachinism etc) have become the engine that drives ICF given how productivity of the old lineup has decreased somewhat. And the journey from 5000 to 6000 has taken a while(maybe coz of people looking over their shoulders and not having time for these things given the FinCri as Dhondy suggested) but a target of 10000 for 2011 wc should be very achievable!

The journey from 5000-6000 was not very quick but as Gambit wrote above a lot of people have more important things than cricket to worry about in these troubling times. Also, the manual screening of each member has slowed the "growth", but at least we now know our member count is accurate. Kudos to all who make this such a wonderful place.:two_thumbs_up:

Congratz ICF !
