There is no difference, at least I don't think there is. Let me share a small experience. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last semester, I had to take C# as it was a core course and I couldn't get it exempted. Initially, I was apprehensive my GPA would take a big hit because of this. Then, I decided I would get an A in this course. And once decided, I did not doubt, even though it was such a fantastic desire. It is a course that consists of 5 projects and a midterm. The projects got done by themselves it seems like and the midterm - Ah, the midterm! We are allowed a cheatsheet. I didn't even know what to put in it. I just referred to the previous papers and made an "educated decision" as to what to put. Before going to the exam, I decided I will be getting above 90 on this midterm. (Again, if I let myself think about it, I'd have prolly thwacked my own head) Out of 8 questions, 5 of them were in my cheatsheet. That meant, I could get to 80. I didn't think about it. I knew I was getting 90+ on this one. After 20 mins, the fire alarm goes off and the rest is history :D Finally, I got an A- on this course (and still know as much C# as before), and although it is not a success story (I did not get an A because at some point a little doubt creeped in and before the results I decided I have an A-), I use it to affirm the power of my own choice of thoughts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ticz mian, you have any such hands-on experience to share and thus inspire our brethren here?

Good share Flamy. Flamy, i actually have lot of instances. here is one of them. I was in a location where there i couldn't buy any calling card from. My regular calling card, the reliance india call one had expired. Also that time they didn't have service for auto charge through phone. I had to make an emergency phone call to India rite away or they would have been a big big problem. I just kept thinking that My mom or dad would definatley call. I just kept being positive about it and soon my heart and my phone started Vibrating and so did my body.. It was a call from India.

haha lol. Ya, Upbringing = Social Conditioning. We inherit not just genes, but also beliefs from our parents. Beliefs are the most intangible parts of our selves that have the most tangible effect on our lives. At any given point of time, if someone asks me, "What are your beliefs?", I'd be caught up in a thought-loop. It really is an unfair question. And very personal too. Plus, a little difficult to put our fingers on. Let us look at some limiting beliefs: 1. Money is the root of all evil. (Scarcity) 2. Be desireless, and thus happy. (Craving) 3. Work HARD, really hard and you will achieve your goals. (Struggle) 4. If you want something, you should give up something. (Sacrifice) 5. Do not be selfish. (Altruism) 6. Orgasms last only for 17 seconds.

OK did a quick wiki on this and this is totally opposite to how I approach life. I approach everything negatively, expecting I won't succeed in it. In other words I am always ready for plan B. But I always give my best minus any pressure on me to succeed as I am not expecting it in the first place. This has always worked wonders for me during both highs and lows in my life. There is nothing spiritual or negative about it, it just made me less emotional and more clear in my approach to anything I do.

But whats the price of the time spent in negativity before the actual event? A lot of our life is spent in between 'events' and most of the happiness I have had havent been when I have succeded or failed in something but in the time spent in anticipation and at the aftermath of that thing
