Gunner_Mania Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Its weird to accept that by praying in front of a cross or an idol or in a particular direction will make my life any better ... and whats even harder to accept is that there is something called after life and only if I pray I will have a good after life and god created us and wanted us to appreciate him and pray everyday .. WTF .. remember people who spoke about all this were born 1000s of years ago and had never traveled vast distances .. or looked at the earth from the space or moon .. didnt know what son does or what revolves around what .. still some of us believe what was written 1000s of years ago :dontknow: I dont get it .. if some people do then good luck :nice: :hmmm: Yes I am bored...

IKnowU Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 lol I religous cuz my parents make me........and the indirect "pressure" from relatives to follow the reiligous traditions and customs. My family does everything religously but we dont sacrifice our daily lifestyle in the name of religion. A perfect example would be eating food in a restaurant with beef or pork. Although we dont cook it at home we dont put religion ahead which interferes what we enjoy. Mum: Pray to god after you have shower everyday. Me: like wtf. fine whatever. Go stand in front of the pooja room, close eyes and pretend to pray for 5 secs. Mum: Did you pray Me: Yes mommy. Ive done that happen so many times. And my mum still thinks I actually pray. Im like wtf do I pray about???

Being made to do things with the right hand forcefully was almost barbaric to begin with. Practices like cutting hair/nails on certain times/days only were outright silly. Now that i am smarter and independent, i am not sure what god would want me to do if he existed. Does god allow consuming any beef, only halal/kosher beef or no beef ? Does he want women covered up or not ? Modern living makes it even more confusing .. is it ok to drive luxury cars while billions suffer for food/shelter/water ? Do i buy cheap products made in China and donate money to the poor, thus increasing exploitation of chinese workers and harming the environment as well ? I wonder how god accounts for everything on judgement day :dontknow: it sure would help to know the points system. btw if god offers 40/72 hotties (virgins or otherwise), i'm all religious

I believe in the existence of the Almighty and I believe in every religion to be good .. if you mean following my religion devotedly then maybe non-religious but if you mean believing in the existence of God, then surely religious.

In fact i'd go so far as to say that language was a result of religion, the earliest known texts were religious texts. People may or may not believe in religion but its necessary.
