Just saw it in news. Bangalore,DC and DD there are three teams from india in this year's champions league. There will be one team each from New Zealand and West Indies. Champions League expanded from eight to 12 teams

The domestic Twenty20 winners of West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand, as well as Delhi Daredevils, will also get an opportunity to participate in the inaugural Champions Twenty20 League, to be held from October 8-23 in India, just after the Champions Trophy. Delhi have been included on the basis of having topped the round-robin stage of the 2009 IPL. They will be joined by Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the 2009 IPL finalists. The original line-up of Western Australia and Victoria, Australia's domestic Twenty20 winners and runners-up, South Africa's Pro20 finalists Titans and Dolphin, England's Twenty20 Cup champions Middlesex will now have to try and make the cut all over again. Last year's IPL finalists Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings will not be eligible. Sialkot Stallions, the winners of Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 tournament, will not feature as originally scheduled because their government has restricted travel to India. The tournament was initially supposed to held from December 3-11 2008 in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore but was put off after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The cancellation came as a huge blow for the teams that qualified for the 2008 edition, as they would have received at least US$250,000 as participating fees from the total pot of US$6 million.

Chennai failz to qualify for the 2009 Champions League 3 teams from IPL are supposed to play in the 2009 edition of the champions league. Unfortunately they finished 2nd to Delhi in the preliminary round and hence they won't be able to take part 2009 edition of IPL. Instead the 2 finalists, Bangalore and Hyderabad along with the Top team in the preliminary round, Delhi Daredevils would play in champions league. B->B->B->B->B->B-> scroll down to check out the teams which have qualified for th 2009 edition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Cricket_League p.s - I reckon Delhi might not get to play too since they didn't reach the final and the table shows just 1 team from New Zeland. There can be some error but well anywayz...

yep thats cuz Pakis terrorists are not playing .. :isalute:
Will the international IPL players join the IPL franchisees again for the champions league Anyways it would be even better competition as it would show the T20 champs of most other countries too The best thing I like is that Lalit Modi has almost taken supremacy over the t20 formats and making it popular
