Vijay.Sharma Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Ya guys know what it is? It is a lot of fun! It is basically knowing you are in a dream when you are in a dream. I've been having them ever since I was a kid, but didn't know the technical term for it. I usually start flying and grabbing boobs when I go lucid :--D But, it fades away :(( I've been trying to go lucid by command and for longer times as I have nothing else to do nowadays and there is no cricket either. Recently, I had one. In this dream, my dad slapped my mom. I KNEW instantly that it was a dream cuz that would never happen for real and I started flying. It is a SURREAL feeling man. Before, I could make myself appear among some nice ladies, it fizzed out. :sniffle: So, any of you noobs ever had something like this?Lucid dreams are amazing experiences dude! I think all of us have them and some have them more frequently than others. Like you even I used to have them through my childhood and it was only about 3-4 years ago I learned that it was called "lucid dream". These days what happens is quite amazing...in the middle of the dream I wake up - not fully but just become aware that I am sleeping on the bed and maybe turn sides, etc - and then I consciously choose to go back into the dream. Its like as if I had hit the pause button, became aware that I am sleeping, and by an act of choice clicked the play button again. Usually that dream then stays on and ends up as the last dream for that night (at least the last remembered dream of the night). Another funny experience I am having ever since I have become aware that we can actually cause lucid dreams is that I have had some dream settings repeat...so in a way it is like playing the dream all over again but now I get to act differently with the experience of what happened the previous time. Nice topic da!
Vijay.Sharma Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I am having difficulties having any kind of dreams for a couple of years now. Don't really know what the problem is. I am considering meeting a therapist.I dunno if this holds true in your case but it could also be that you don't remember your dreams. All dreams fall under two categories - ones that we remember having dreamed of after waking up and the ones that we don't. It is quite regular for people to go for days without remembering any of their dreams. But yes 2 years seems quite a lot of time. You do need to meet up with a therapist. Sometimes lack of dreams could be either because one is living in a pretty deep conscious existence...great awareness of self and everything around us, or because one's state of mind is such that there seems to be no immediate purpose/ambition to keep life moving...things have become too mundane and one feels that it makes no difference to everything else around whether or not he/she exists. The latter is a dangerous territory...hope u are not feeling that life is too mundane, that your existence or lack of it does not make any difference to others, etc.
Vijay.Sharma Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I donÃÕ think I actually get to know that I am in a dream, when I am dreaming. But there have been a few times where IÃ×e had some nightmares (the usual creature chasing me, me failing horribly in exams sorta stuff) where, even in my sleep I realize that this is only a nightmare, its not for real and I should relax a bit. When I was in middle-school, I had this weird habit of writing my dreams down in a diary every morning. Should try to renew that habit. :DSorry for the ignorance but what is middle school? 6th, 7th standard?
Vijay.Sharma Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 When I was a kid I used to have the same dream every night....running downstairs and my chin breaks. Don't get that anymore. I love to dream though and sometimes I sleep for long hours just so I can dream. Sometimes, I prepare for this laying on the bed...my eyes closed and then start fantasizing about things. I wish we could record our dreams and watch it on TV the next day. :asleep:Haven't seen u for quite a while...welcome back :icflove:
Old guy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 am i the only one who cant remember his dreams?
The Dark Horse Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Do they come true ? :hmmm: No, most of them are stupid/unreal:P..Its those times when I have a short nap I'm able to remember dreams. Suppose I keep the alarm at 6:00 but snooze it and wake up again at 6:15 or 6:30, in those cases I have a short kinda dream which i remember.
Lord Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I usually remember dreams for a day or too.sometimes i dont even know afterwards it was a dream

Jersey #10 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 ^nice view...you must have tried paddle to the metal a few times...:D btw, When I was young, I used to pee in my dreams and always woke up with wet bed. Mom used to get super mad then they started putting some sort of plastic under my bed sheet to save the mattress underneath it. gross as it sounds, it's true ... maybe when I was in 3rd or 4th grade.
