Badrinath: I will be tested in WI S Badrinath reckons nippy pacers and lively tracks will make it a challenge to shine in the four-match ODI series in the Caribbean. But the Tamil Nadu lad insists that he is up for it. Badrinath said he has a technique that generally works against the pacers and even though life would not be easy in the West Indies, he was confident of coming off with flying colours. "I am really happy because I have been waiting for such occasions," the middle order batsman said. "No doubt, I will be tested there. But I am sure the conditions will suit me. I always plan and do well against pace bowlers and hope to play to my potential against the West Indies pacers as well," the Tamil Nadu youngster said. Badrinath said even though he has not played in the Caribbeans, he has some idea about the conditions there. "I have not played in the West Indies but having watched my seniors play there in the past, particularly in the 2007 World Cup, I have a fair idea of what is to expect. "I will assess the conditions once we reach there and settle down quickly," he said. "I will strive to do my best and work for the team's cause," he added. Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
 Lively tracks? Is he drunk? When was the last time there was a lively track in WI? That's the first thing that came to my mind. We think alike, but then again we are Badri haters who still cannot pronounce his whole name :icflove: Link to comment

I think we'll have to wait. I feel that he will struggle as well, but because he's playing in such a crucial role, he'll have to do well for us to have a good chance at winning this thing. yoda
Badri, don't worry. Dhoni won't include you in the XI. Even if he does, you will be coming in at #7. And god forbid you get sent early and you fail even once, you will be sealed forever. Oh wait, you are already sealed forever, remember you are just an injury replacement. If you can't even get a decent spot in your domestic IPL team, who the really cares about you (except those here who are wishing for you to fail)? Just relax and enjoy your Caribbean visit and be prepared to make way for the more "accomplished" players once the series is over. Link to comment

Kohum
M Vijay would play most games. Badri will get just one game IMO. One more opportunity amongst so many failed ones. Link to comment

Long rope, eh? Yes - this time around all our batsmen will be facing a lot of chin music from the fired up WI bowlers. Would have been better if Raina was in the squad as well, so we can see if he shows better technique than in T20 WC. Link to comment

Badrinath is not a bigger performer than the current ones we carry. At the moment he cannot replace any of our middle order batsman unless of course he is willing to open. Rohit failed as an opener and I don't think Dhoni will be keen in continuing him as an opener. But then wait, Badri can only play at #4 any lower or higher he is sent, he will fail which of course is Dhoni's fault. While we are at the batting positions, can anyone care to tell me which Indian batsman (Of course besides Tendulkar) has a confirmed spot that he will be batting in during Dhoni's reign ? So let's just cut the anti-tamil and anti-badri campaign already. Link to comment
