What concerned me more than 2 failures was the way he got out. Comprehensively bowled by Steyn (not the kind of dismissal any top order cricketer will like) and then fishing outside off stump to Parnell (which I had mentioned earlier as his technical flaw). But yes,he should still be given a couple of more chances.

Both Badri and Vijay have ensured that when we play the next test series and if Yuvi is fit, Yuvi will walk into the test side. The only way to keep Yuvi out of the test team was for one of them to either hit a 100 in this series or to put up consistent scores which both Badri and Vijay have failed to do. Also someone who is nearing 30 won't get as many chances as a 23-24 yr old batsman. So looking tough for Badri, unless he piles on the runs in domestic matches again.

Yes, all teams do use nightwatchmen but that is not the point. The point is why didn't Dhoni use the nightwatchman at the fall of Sehwag's wicket to protect the other middle order batsmen?

At his age its unlikely he will get to many chances to prove himself because of which you could clearly see the pressure on him, though he showed why he is such a heavy scorer in domestic based on the innings he played in 1st test, 2nd test he made to look like a club level cricketer. I feel he should be given one more series ahead of yuvraj.

:cantstop: Frankly speaking I dont like his body language at all. Vijay did not impress in this series but his body language was not that bad though it was not as good as his previous test matches I would prefer Pujara given a chance in next series instead

Is he better than VVS of now? No way! But he is better than when VVS started. He is better than when dada a few years after his twin 100s against England in his debut series. He is still better than Yuvraj in domestic games. He seems suspect to pace esp inswinging deliveries. Everyone you have mentioned had the same problem. Sehwag was clinically picked up by pace bowlers bowling to his rib cage and having a catcher in the legside. He learned from it and changed. Give him the same leeway that every debutant gets. Not because of his 50 in his first innings when almost everyone else failed but because he was our best batsman in the domestic circuit for so long.

I also like Vijay's attitude and would like to give him more chances.. but frankly speaking he is doing downward in the last few matches again .. would surely drop Badri .. dont like his attitude and nervousness at all Regarding VVS and Dada, both especially Dada were quite brilliant since the start of their careers

I think Dhoni has a point when he says when an youngster makes it to the team, we should give them ample chance. Look at gambhir or sehwag...they had a rocky road before they started delivering. Debuting against second best team is no walk in the park. I say give them a few more chances, if they don't adapt dump them.

Badri in Tests.. ok, sure give him more chances.. but Badri in ODIs... Nope!!

Yes fidgety. For all the ridicule we make of Nohit,, when he is on song he is such a fluent batsman. He had loads of time to play 150k deliveries from Lee in Australia. Same way Kohli is also utterly at ease when he plays shots or picks up singles. COnfidence just oozes when these guys get going. No nervous pokes, thirdman dabs. I don't mean that clueless arrogance like Uthappam :hysterical: . To be fair he played some outrageous innings himself. One against Pakistan in T20.
