The Outsider
Good to see Nayar in the squad. Many will not agree with me, but he is a potential test player. He plays with a straight bat, has match awareness, and can give it a real thump when needed. Moreover, he can bring that extra Ganguly like dimension in the squad of a batsman who can bowl a bit of seam up if needed. That's crucial when playing the subcontinent where we will always play 2 spinners. Link to comment
The Outsider
any info on manish pandey Yeah, he is busy clearing up the debris and dust at Wankhede in preparation for the 2011 WC, which is all he is fit to do with his cow lashes. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Goddamnit, how can Australia leave out Josh Hazelwood? Either glad to see Mitch Marsh in there. This kid is going places. And Outsider nailed it re. Nayar. Quality player. Hope he and Rahane make bucketloads of runs. Link to comment

Chandan
India Emerging players win the first T20 match against AIS. AIS scored 101/7 in 20 overs, Tyagi and Sangwan claimed 2 wickets each while Mishra, Pankaj Singh and Nayar claimed one each. India knocked those runs off in 18.3 overs, losing the 4 wickets in the process. Rahane held one end up with unbeaten 43, Vijay was out for a duck, Badrinath for 2 Kohli for 7 and Nayar for a quickfire 30 of just 25 balls. Scorecard Iframe: Open in new window Link to comment
Sachinism
Go India, good job lads, but its only T20 Link to comment
The Outsider
That looks like a match on a slow, low wicket. Good job by India to start off with a win. I hope Nayar uses this tour to cement a spot in the Indian side. He can be a very useful addition to the team. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Excellent. Glad to see two of my favourite young players making runs. :--D Link to comment

Chandan
Vijay, Badrinath, Aswin were disappointing. But it is just a T20. Hope to see them perform strongly in the coming matches. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Surprised to see such a long tail in that batting lineup though - Ashwin at 6?! Link to comment
hari504504
cow lashes?he played most delightful cover drives n square drives in IPL His pull shots/slogs or whatever ...was pure cow lashing....quite a few of his shots in the air fell in no-man's land... One-off performances shouldn't start getting ppl into reckoning for the national team.. Link to comment
Chandan
Surprised to see such a long tail in that batting lineup though - Ashwin at 6?! Actually Tiwari and Saha were there as batsmen. In normal circumstances, Aswin would have come at 8! Link to comment
The Outsider
Surprised to see such a long tail in that batting lineup though - Ashwin at 6?! Badrinath was being anti-Bengali by pushing Tiwary and Saha below Ashwin. Link to comment
The Dark Horse
dont know abt anti bengalism but Tiwary/Saha shud hav been sent ahead of Ashwin Link to comment
Cricketics
Glad to see Nayar showing how to hit runs on a slow wicket. 19 balls 30 where everyone else had a 50 over game strike rate. Link to comment
