Guest Hiten.
Kothamanagalam: India fast bowler Sreesanth is finalising a deal with Warwickshire to play in the forthcoming county season in England. Speaking to a TV channel here on Thursday at the conditioning camp of the probables of the state side, Sreesanth said the deal is almost done and he will be leaving for England in two months' time but refused to name the county. Speaking to IANS, a top Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) official on condition of anonymity said he is closing the deal and it could be to play for Warwickshire. "The permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India has come and the finalisation of his deal is being done through the agents of the county," said the KCA official, who also added the pacer could also captain the state side in the forthcoming domestic series. Sreesanth has been in the news for more reasons than one and has run into trouble with his on-field aggressive behaviour. He last played a one-day international for the country against Australia at Brisbane last March. His last Test was against South Africa at Kanpur in April last year, following which he was bogged down by fitness problems. Sreesanth since his one-day debut in October 2005 against Sri Lanka at Nagpur has played 41 matches and has taken 59 wickets for the country. After a long lay-off he returned to play the last few matches for Kings XI Punjab in the second edition of the IPL that was played in South Africa. http://cricketnext.in.com/news/sreesanth-may-play-for-warwickshire/42529-13.html Finally some news that relates Sree with cricket. Let's hope Sreesanth gets back to his best and gets drafted in India's test side :two_thumbs_up:. Link to comment

Ram
Well, he needs some medium to get back into the attention of the national selectors and fans alike. If County cricket is providing him with that opportunity, so be it. If he’s fit enough, he will do well in England. I say this despite him being the worst of all Indian seamers, when last toured there in 2007. Hopefully, he learned a lot from the mistakes from the last tour and has more success this time around. One things for sure though – Sreesanth is losing supporters fast. In the initial stages, even though he had this penchant to throw the odd tantrum in the field, he was generally popular among Indian fans. Barring a few sporadic good performances here and there, he didn’t set the world on fire with his bowling, but people still supported him for the talent he had. But now, even the odd match-winning performance has become a rarity and unfortunately for him, he has become the victim of a media that was intent on using his loose tongue and abrasive nature to constantly create headlines about him. He has to buckle up, put his head down and concentrate on doing what he’s good at – Fast bowling. Else, he risks fading into obscurity and may easily lose 4-5 years of his career, just like Balaji or Nehra did. Link to comment

Don Sharma
...More Sreesanth likely to become Kerala captain Kochi: India speedster S Sreesanth, who was left out of the national team for the Champions Trophy to be held in South Africa, is likely to be appointed captain of the Kerala Ranji Trophy team for the coming season. Even though selection of the team as well as the captain rests entirely with the state selection committee, Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has expressed desire that Sreesanth may be given the chance to lead the state, KCA sources said. The coaching camp for the Ranji Trophy team will begin tomorrow and would be held at Kothamangalam, in Ernakulam district, where the first Regional Cricket Coaching Academy was inaugurated recently. After the two-week long coaching camp, the captain for the coming Ranji season will be announced. About 36 players, including some under-19 players, have been chosen for the camp. The under-19 players have been included with a view to giving them exposure. KCA has embarked on a project, 'Mission 2020' envisaging the state moving up from Plate to Elite group and ultimately winning the Ranji Trophy, sources said. Link to comment
The Outsider
He should have done this much earlier. IMO, he is the best fast bowling talent we have along with Ishant and it will be a huge waste if he does not play for India on a regular basis. Link to comment
hari504504
another ''has been' is all he is...Don't think dhoni was too impressed with his antics on the field...would have to do really well to get selected again Link to comment
Mamu
another ''has been' is all he is...Don't think dhoni was too impressed with his antics on the field...would have to do really well to get selected again Suddenly one fine day -- it dawned on him that his profession is cricket and not acting on stage. We don't want weird characters like him. It is 100% cricket and everything else is 2nd -- or else -- take a hike! Link to comment
