Guest gaurav_indian Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I may retire if I don't fire in Champ Trophy: Afridi Karachi: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Thursday said he is raring to perform at the forthcoming Champions Trophy in South Africa. Afridi, who played a key role in Pakistan's title win at the World Twenty20 championship, said he wants to give his best for the Champions Trophy that gets underway from September 22. "A lot depends on my performance in the Champions Trophy in South Africa and I am looking forward to this tough event," said Afridi, who was promoted as Pakistan's Twenty20 captain following his heroics in England. He also replaced Misbah-ul-Haq as the Pakistan vice-captain for Tests and one-dayers, in which Younis Khan leads the country. "If I am not that successful in Champions Trophy, then I may consider quitting the game for good," he said. Pakistan is bracketed with Australia, India and West Indies in Pool A of the elite eight-nation tournament. http://cricketnext.in.com/news/i-may-retire-if-i-dont-fire-in-champ-trophy-afridi/43829-30.html :omg::omg::omg:

Mamu Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 It is not a surprise, considering that Pakis will play 10 or 12 matches in the next 12 months in NZ, Aus and Eng where they are going to get cloberred atleast 8-0 - if not more. And Afretard is going to get exposed like a man without his underpants on those wickets. He will retire and then come back after Pak has finished its engagements there. Honestly he has become a better bowler -- atleast in the shorter formats of the game. But in tests -- I am not sure if he is going to be any valuable.
Aadhavzone Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Anyway Afridi was terrific in recent games, but he has been the most inconsistent Entertainer of all the time! Guyz Note my point: He will play his potential in CT! please dont make funabout this! :hysterical: I love Afridi anytime :) , though he disappears many time from the pitch!:haha:
yoda Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I wish he were more specific so that I can look forward to the failure. Just saying "a lot depends on my performance" doesn't cut it.
niceguy_789 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 :hmmmm2:, shouldn't this be in the joke section?

The Outsider Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 If not firing is his criteria, he should have retired a long time back.
riya Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 He said ''I may consider'' then he may ''reconsider '' for the sake of Pakistan cricket.
