Tendulkar Castles India

Sachin Tendulkar is not just a living legend but a still playing legend. Can you imagine what it must feel like to play with him? On the chessboard, Tendulkar is India's queen (Dhoni is King). This queen is moving around with the same aplomb she showed in the 90s. Sadly, the rest of the playing XI have reverted to type - they are auxiliary porns once more. It cannot be easy for them, playing alongside such a giant. The problem with being so good with your queen is you lose the art of inflicting checkmate without her. Knights, rooks, and porns can be equally deadly alongside their King. Enjoy an in form Tendulkar by all means, but understand his adverse impact on a side that will always see itself as the supporting cast while he is around. Discuss !

on offense we are missing the most destructive odi batsman ever.one innings between 50-100 by Sehwag will almost guarantee us a win.Zak bowling and his presence is also sorely missed.he was expensive in odis but atleast he was good for some early wickets.

I think a fair few of the players- the established ones certainly- are quite confident in their own right- Dravid, Yuv, MSD Sehwag even Gambhir. Doubt it will have that kinda effect In fact it should be quite galvanising playing alongside the greatest cricketer ever. And they shouldnt be too reliant on him either I would not have thought, not since at full strength there are a few pretty good ODI batsmen in our set up

Good chess players dont move their Queen around & infact queen bcoms a handicap in most games so its canceled out very early in the game .we are a Good team & our games haven't revolved around the queen for some time ..if it happens , think we are back to being a mediocre team .

And anyway, it was not meant as a literal analogy to chess. Great OP btw, it's obvious, without SRT this team is not that great.

i disagree with this statement.we are not great if both sehwag and sachin are missing.one of them will do.

Sehwag as prolific as he's been in tests, somehow he is not that consistent in ODIs.

This man is a class player. He showed today how an aggressive innings is played. Throwing your bat at everything and then throwing your wicket away is not aggressive batting.

To answer your OP Goose, Theyre 2-2 so two matches won and this is the first match that he's actually contributed in -what an amazing contribution too- but were gonna lose today anyway. We depended on him loads in the 90's. Not so much anymore. And he's not really moving with the 90's aplomb. In the 90's innings like todays were far more frequent
