Alam_dar Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 wtf....and no !! Sachin should open all the time. Why are we panicking ? come on guys !:icflove: ICFers knw that im prob no 1 yuvi fan, but hey !Our team is still capable of winning this trophy. I really believe it !!!TRUST ME ! anyway my XI would be: Sachin Yousuf Gambhir Raina/Dhoni (right/left comb) Dhoni/Raina Dravid (avg 51 with strike rate of 95 at this position) Kohli (could be shuffled if needded) or Nayar Harbhajan Mishra Inshant Nehra Are you really sure you want to bring Dravid at No. 5? For me it would be great mistake. If India loose 2 quick wickets during Power play, then 2 down should be Dravid. If India doesn't loose early wickets, then bring Dravid at 5 (So that earlier other could play with fast run rate) Yousuf as opener is a big RISK for India & as well as for the opponent Team :haha: Hopefully he could still perform as Opener It was shock to see Indian loosing hearts after exclusion of only One Batsman (yuvi). There are plenty of very talented batsmen still there who are fully capable to come over this problem. The main concern of India was & still is the bowling.

Trust me ,,,,Yousuf will definitely stay longer than Nazir and Afridi the BEAST :winky: the reason we r dissaappointed is that afta Broad , it was ur Gulli's turn this time to get served with Punjabi biryani from Sixer King :hatsoff:

He is real Six King & I like him very much. There is no one in Indian Subcontinent with such 6 hitting capability and Strength as Yuvraj Singh has. The next thing, which is close to Yuvraj Singh in 6 hitting Strength, it is Shahzaib Hassan Khan. But he doesn't seem to be having good enough techniques to qualify in the ODIs (he may be lucky if he qualifies for 20/20 only). Actually 20/20 is also very difficult for him as most Pakistani players are 20/20 specialists & difficult to beat them in 20/20 format. Any how, Sehwag & Veeru are the back bones of Indian Team & I liked both of them the most. But still with RAINA & Yousuf & Tendulkar & Dravid, .... this batting line up is still much better than Pakistani batting line up of Younus, Yousuf, Misbah & Umar Akmal (and 5h one is either Imran Nazir or Malik)

The Outsider Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 We are missing the X factor without Yuvraj and Sehwag, but do we really need the X factor to get past teams like Pakistan and Australia? The way Centurion played the other night, I don't think either team are capable of defeating India. Tendulkar Gambhir Dravid Raina Dhoni Kohli Pathan/Nayar is a damn good batting line up. We'll need to play two spinners along with Nehra and Ishant - Ajmal is the only decent spinner from the two oppositions combined and granted that our seam bowlers are going to go to the cleaners we still have enough batting to put up a strong enough response and choke the middle overs through Harbhajan and Mishra.

Shahzaib will never play for Pak again with that rubbish technique.
Dirty_South Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 who da phuck is Shahzaib Hassan Khan ??? I've never heard of him !
The Outsider Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 who da phuck is Shahzaib Hassan Khan ??? I've never heard of him ! A typical cowlasher from Pakistan - played 1-2 games in the T20 WC as opener.
ludhianvi Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 :(( I shall now see Yuvi in Raina. who da phuck is Shahzaib Hassan Khan ??? I've never heard of him ! Dont you recall the opening batsman in the warmup t20 WC 2009? I think Praveen bowled him IIRC.
Params7 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Irfan would have been so useful right now as a replacement for Yuvi...and Sharma BOTH, then you could get 1 more batsmen in.

WeStMiDz Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It's time for a certain Suresh Raina to step up to the plate. The platform has been laid, what can he do?
Jersey #10 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 This is ridiculous...wth??? I could not have even thought of such a misery just two days before the opener match against the biggest rivals. I am honestly only interested in India beating Pakistan. I ll be just as happy to see Pakistan lose against India as India winning the trophy. Now it all goes down to the GOD one more time! Can GOD pull off a 45th century on Saturday? This is the only way India can win against Pakistan as it seems. the LORD Lets do this runs making machine. :yay:
spectre Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Its very sad to see two Indian mavericks miss out for this big tournament :(( But if we are aiming to be World No.1 consistently, we need to prove winning without some main players missing out, its prone to happen at some stage or the other Time for our boys to show what a champion team can do without some of their stars Beat the 'bunker boys' first and win this tournament :two_thumbs_up:
Lord Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 nothing against Kohli but the selectors should have been smart n picked Irfan to bolster our struggling pace attack.he is also reliable with the bat.is unlikely that Kohli would smash 100s at no.6.Irfan could have chipped in with quickfire 20-30 n added to our pacers.also a Lefty could have replaced a lefty

Texy Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Sharma is injured too? I think he meant nohit sharma
