Guys can anyone who watched the whole days' action tell me what sort of speeds was Sree bowling at? I know its not important..but 'm just eager to know if he is back to bowling in the 140's like he did in that SA tour in 2006-07. Btw congrats to the guy.

It wasn't dramatic, it wasn't the usual Sreesanth theatrics that make him perhaps the most complex cricketer in this side. Today, those signature self-exhortations at the top of the run-up were rarely seen, as was any special celebration after a wicket. Prasanna had taken an aggressive route, slog sweeping and driving the spinners and, though he faced Zaheer Khan, he didn't have to play Sreesanth till he reached 35. Sreesanth probed Prasanna with 11 testing deliveries that included leg cutters, inswingers and a lovely inswinging yorker but Prasanna stood firm. However, Prasanna chased the 12th, a short and wide one, and got a thin nick through to the keeper. That was a recurring theme. Sreesanth would severely test the batsmen with a cluster of good deliveries and would invariably pick up a wicket with one slightly wide from the stumps. His pace wasn't frightening (135 kmph was the average), there were no fiery bouncers and he didn't swing it around corners, but what he did was land each ball on a probing line and length, and cut it either way just enough to test the batsmen. -CRICINFO

Well he isn't the type of bowler who could scare batsmen with bouncers anyway..I remember in that SA tour he was consistently around the 140-142 kph mark and getting brilliant outswing. Thats the Sree I would like to see again. But perhaps its tough to get big swing in Indian conditions with SG ball..anyway glad to hear he was bowling up around that pace.

Yeah, he was a waste when batsmen attacked him as per usual. But mostly did the job in the first test. Look I don't care who's the 2nd/3rd seamer as long as it's our best option. That's why I made my posts before the 2nd test started (which you completely ignored just now I see). Right now Sreesanth is the best option we have after Zaheer.

His idea of bouncer is pitching it short without even any effort. So ball will just sit up for batsmen. Inability to bowl conventional swing. Part of the reason Ishant is not a "pitch up" bowler. Lack of variations as a bowler Overall Sree is always better. All Sree has to do is maintain his pace not lose it.

He must be included in all indian teams now that he is back and fit. He bowls with pace, heart and with skill. In fact I love the guy, he is a real character and fantastic entertainment (although many people use the fact he has a personality against him). Compared to the others apart from ZK he is a shining light. As he always runs in and gives 100% trying to bowl with pace and real heart. He also bowls with great skill, with great seam positions making the ball talk. Has had some great performances for India particularly in SA, were frankly speaking he was sensational. Now he is delivering again after a county stint and doing well now in Irani trophy. Its time for people to put aside their personal dislikes of Srees wacky personality(although personally I love his luancy) and focus on his good bowling abilty. He must be picked!! I am sure he would have done very well on the SA tracks we are now leaving, real shame he did not play as am sure would have done better then current bunch. Come on chaps ZK/Gambhir had a spell away from indian team and then were recalled and came back stronger and better. The time now applies for my man SREE!! I DEMAND HIS RECALL AND BACKING!

Shame that...inspite of being aware of what happened to Irfan, Ishant couldn't live up to his initial performances. There is just no excuse for losing the sort of pace he had. Ability like that is rare in India

Yeah...First of, big welcome to Sree... excellent bowling. I think today speed was not a problem at all. They all wanted to bowl little slower and pitch was slow anyway. With slightly slower ball, it would stop on the batsman, making it difficult to play. Very good line n length bowling. No crappy short pitched, full tosses, or leg side line. On the whole, good off stump line got him so many wickets. It will be very good for IS. He will have to work very hard and he cannot be complecent any more. Its good for us that there is a competition. With Zahir Khan back in the side, Nehra and RP will work harder to get back in the side.

Disagree. He was injured for 19 months. Its difficult to produce performances when not actually playing cos of injury. He got back his fitness after lengthy spell out and then to be fair to selectors much to my suprise(as thought they hated him)recalled him virtually straight away to test side at first opprtunity! Again he performed superbly in SA series in SA. Tormented them with pace bowling and was one of main reasons we won our first ever test there.

Duh, Of course i know he was outta the game for 19 months, I was talking about the time when he was PLAYING for team India. And i did not say he has NOT contributed to our winning cause at all, I said the instances of that happening were few and far between, which i think is an extremely fair statement to make. Anyways, I am not interested in a slander match at this point. I knew why I said what I said.

Slander match????? Anyway. Its about time people got of Srees back(not referring to you MM so take a chill pill:cantstop:). He has got a ridiculously dissproptiante amount of stick over completly irreleveant stuff. Purley because he does not behave in the percieved manner of a quiet good indian boy. Bhaji also suffers from such dispprotiante stick for same reasons. It seems people want a team of choir boys! I love the chracters who get in to occasional bit of trouble on the filed. Bhaji and Sree kepp up the good work and ignore the hate mob. p.s bowlers need fire and aggression. Especially when in tests things are tough. These boys keep trying while other choir boys fade away with their weak hearts.

^ The problem was not so much his antics alone. I think the public would have been quick to overlook his antics had his form been good but his form declined too which made it annoying when his antics continued. Like I have said before, Sreesanth can win us a match out of nowhere but I sincerely hope he can use this to find some consistency which is what India needs from him because we have seen so many occassions in the past where he has come good one match and everyone jumps on the Sreesanth bandwagon and then a few games later he starts spraying the ball around and gets carted and people turn around and say he should be dropped.
