Cricketics Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 His movie choice is great, His acting is great. Was just watching his Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, and in that also he has acted really well. I really liked his first movie too in which he acted alongside Aisha Takia.
jf1gp_1 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Manorama six feet under was another movie he acted very well
Sooda Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 is Dev D any good? Ive got it on dvd , bought it because i heard good reviews, but never got round to watching...
coffee_rules Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dev D is his best. His selection of characeters are pretty good for a mainstream bollywood actor. Same with Ranbir Kapoor who is even more mainstream. Ek chalis ki last local is good too, but I concur that DevD/OLLO is his best.
punjabi_khota Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Easily the best new comer to Bollywood in past 5 years.
cowboysfan Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 yep,the best hindi movie i have seen this year.

ViruRulez Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I did not watch Dev D but the acting in the other movies I have seen are just ok nothing fantastic
DomainK Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I think "Socha na tha" still remains his best movie. It was a superb love story. Much better than what the Yashrajs or Johars produce. Abhay Deol's success lies in his choice of roles. He never goes for larger than life roles. If he did, he would have flopped pretty fast. He is also not dumb like the rest of his family. Sunny, Bobby, Dharam paji and even Esha come across as quite dumb and arrogant. But Abhay is different.

Also, Abhay's best movie IMO is Ek challis is last local . As you said, he chooses non conventional scripts..he might not make a large fan base but whatever fans he can amass would be seasoned critics and people who know their movies.
Params7 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Dev D, and all other movies from Anurag Kashyap (Gulaal, Black Friday, No Smoking) > Rest Of Bollywood. Abhay was fantastic in Dev D.
