Ranji Trophy - Super League 2009-2010 - Discussion thread

This was a typical thing for him a few years back. In the 02-05 period, he was a regular contributor with the bat down the order and a major thorn in opposition sides - plus his knocks would usually be the difference between first innings leads and deficits, or between a decent total and a matchwinning one. Great to see that the Fat Man is back for Bombay. :hail:

Mithuns not a medium pacer , atleast medium fast ....hit 143+ couple of times in the 4 ovesr he bowled against MI's ..surprisingly he wasn't selected by BRC in CL . pretty tall and well built & i think hes quite capable of hitting higher speeds with a slightly smoother action . check his wickets , mostly lbws , Wc ct and bowled . KB Pawans another players am looking forward to watch , Dravid apparently thinks hes good prospect .

Not international class. Tried and tested' date=' failed miserably. Can't bat, can't bowl, can't goddamn field.[/quote'] Yet in all the macthes they played together, he easily outbowled Harbhajan both in wickets and in economy. But he is a failure and Hummerbhajan is a success

Mohnish Parmar's action cleared by BCCI http://www.cricinfo.com/india/content/story/433195.html Indian domestic cricket Mohnish Parmar's action cleared by BCCI Cricinfo staff November 6, 2009 Text size: A | A Mohnish Parmar, the spinner from Gujarat, has had his bowling action cleared by the Indian board (BCCI). Parmar's action first came under scrutiny in April 2006 ahead of the Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. The BCCI confirmed to the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) that a panel comprising S Venkatraghavan, Javagal Srinath and AV Jayaprakash had passed Parmar's action. "We have got a positive response from the committee regarding Mohnish. However, Amit has not been cleared," said GCA secretary Rajesh Patel. Parmar will be available to play in Gujarat's second second Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu next week. However, the GCA is not willing to take any chances and will send Parmar to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore where he will work with GCA consultant Aunshuman Gaekwad. Gaekwad, the former Indian batsman, was instrumental in getting Parmar to fix his problem by having him bowl with a more side-on action. "We have worked hard on Mohnish's action for the past three weeks. His daily practice stretched over six hours," said chief coach Vijay Patel. "I hope his new action will be cleared by the NCA. Moreover, Jayaprakash and Srinath are in Bangalore. So, if required, they will do the needful." The Gujarat fast bowler Amit Singh, who came into prominence when he was signed on by the Rajasthan Royals for the second edition of the IPL in South Africa, has not been cleared. Singh was reported twice in South Africa and subsequently was allowed to bowl in the tournament, but the BCCI has not been so lenient.
