if this is the team we are grooming for world cup , then its safe to say bye bye .. :(( the only way we are capable to take wickets is by runouts it seems .. that too if the fielders get one .. and we dont lack an all rounder either .. once the batsmen also lose form ..oh well .. bye bye :(( this may be premature but things wont be different 1 year down the line .. :((

Forget bowling for a while, if we keep giving 25-30 runs free to the opposition though sloppy fielding in every match, we will keep falling short unless our batsmen put up a 350 plus total everytime. The problem is there is no outstanding fielder in this side currently. The likes of Bhajji and Gambhir who were good 6 months ago have become poor now (even though Bhajji got a direct hit). Sehwag has become slow and looks a little conscious of his right shoulder while on the field. The three pacers Zaheer, Nehra and PK have got no agility and have poor techniques of fielding/throwing the ball. The only guys who are quick and attack the ball consistently are Virat, Jadeja and Raina and even these three at best are above average and field brilliantly only in patches. So even if we were to get the best of professional coaches, our fielding will remain to be below average and we will continue to gift matches to the opposition like we did today.

1 year is a long time and lot of things will change by then so please use some common sense before starting a thread like this. It was not until long ago that we were the number 1 side in the world in ODIs infact a year back we were winning everything so how can u predict what will happen next year. Sorry but a very bad thread this to be polite! If you had opened a thread in the current context then that is a different matter altogether.

forget the odi world cup;we are not going to make any impact in t20 world cup and champions trophy with this level of shoddy bowling.my one complaint of Kirsten is that since he took over our odi bowling(which was never great)has deteriorated at a alarming pace where even our proven performers like bhajji and zak have become cannon fodder. We really need a bowling coach asap.

There is lot of truth in it... If we are to display some impresive performance next WC....we need to get the fielding tight. Our fielding is litterally like our security... 10 jokers hold entire country for ransom for 3 days... Any TDH.... is scoring 7-8 rpo for extended 7-8 overs....especially after you get opposition 6-7 down. At least you need some control...

Dina.... the point is... we know that our batsmen are good in 40+ averages... so batting is cool.. But with bowling...almost every body is taken on a ride every single time... So they all must be at least good fielderss....at leasting doing basics right. give away 65 runs but save 5 runs while fielding is good enuf...
