One thing I like about Akram is that even though he was more of a line and length bowler' date=' in the commentay box he always mentions "pure pace should be the first n primary strength of a bowler"[/quote'] Only bcz now he dont see much (or any) bowler with that much variety with control n right execution, what he had in his times... so you have to have pace...

dude..................................
This IPL is purely buseness..we just have to enjoy whatever we Get...I named Afridi because once Kumble Gone ..(IPL 3 is last i think)...we need a good spinner. Merve is loosing bowling in last few matches and we dont have any capable Spinner in Karnataka except Appanna. As for paki's are considerd..if they play for bangalore we have to support them..no option team is More importnat than the players nationality... remember most populer player in RCB is Taylor..he is getting Ovation similer to Sachin from crowd...and he may nto be available to whole series next time.. *I support Australia against pak any day...

Australian players to shun IPL III? Australian players to shun IPL III? Worried by Shiv Sena's threat, the Australian cricketers may skip this year's IPL, media reports claimed on Thursday. Reacting to Shiv Sena's threat not to allow the Australian cricketers play in India as long as attack on the Indians doesn't stop Down Under, the worried players got in touch with their franchisees, who allegedly refused to entertain their security concerns. Ticked off by the attitude of the franchisees, the Australian players might skip IPL, according to 'The Age'. CA to investigate threat claims "Australian cricketers have been refused access to security plans for the Indian Premier League and may withdraw from the billion-dollar tournament as a result," the daily said. Australia captain Ricky ponting, who is contracted with Kolkata Knight Riders, made it clear that the players would demand safety assurances before leaving for India. "The IPL is a couple of months away yet and I'm sure CA and all the players and the players' association will do everything they have done for every tour we have been on for the last 10 years to check out some of these threats and most importantly keep the players up to date with everything they are finding out," Ponting said. "That happens on every tour we go on and we will be expecting and demanding that happens again," Ponting added. Chief executive of the Australian Cricketers' Association Paul Marsh said ACA was concerned with the development. "The ACA is concerned any time there is a specific threat made against Australian cricketers," he said. “Threat serious but players to decide†"The players rely on us to ensure that security is properly assessed and a recommendation is provided to them. If the IPL won't allow us to review arrangements for this year's event, how can we recommend to our players that they play in the event?" he asked. Federation of International Cricketers' Associations Tim May was baffled by the attitude of the IPL teams, most of which didn't even bother to respond. "We've only had one response to date and it was basically, 'No, we're not going to give that information out to you. If you don't want to come, don't come,' " said May, a former Australian off-spinner. "I think any reasonable person would realise that such an arrogant and inhumane approach to such a sensitive and important issue as human safety is well short of the mark," he added. Australian players with IPL contracts include star players like Ponting, Shane Watson, Brett Lee and Mike Hussey, besides retired heroes Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden.

Freddie to miss IPL, play for Lancs Freddie to miss IPL, play for Lancs Andrew Flintoff will miss this year's Indian Premier League after undergoing a further operation to his right knee. The surgery has caused him to reassess his future plans and the England all-rounder intends to play four-day cricket for Lancashire this summer, having initially insisted he would only feature in the one-day forms of the game. The 32-year-old retired from Test cricket following the victorious Ashes series last summer, citing the stresses on his body, and had planned to make himself a one-day specialist with Lancashire, England and the IPL's Chennai Super Kings. Immediately after the series win over Australia, Flintoff underwent a micro-fracture operation on his right knee and after a routine arthroscopy operation this week to check the healing, he was encouraged to try all forms of the game when he returns to action later this year. "My goals have changed since last summer," said Flintoff, who faces another six months on the sidelines - thus ruling him out of the IPL - following his latest operation. "I trust the surgeon, Andy Williams, implicitly and he is very pleased with the progress of the micro-fracture operation. "When I first had the operation I did not think I would be able to play anything other than one-day cricket. "But the news of my recovery has led me to believe I may play in all forms of cricket for Lancashire. "First and foremost I have to prove to myself that I can regain my fitness and perform for Lancashire. "My first love remains playing for Lancashire and I want to help them win trophies and hopefully I can help achieve that later this summer." The decision to undergo another operation this week was taken in consultation with his surgeon and took into account that he would not be able to fulfil the second year of his contract with Chennai in the IPL. But Flintoff insisted his desire to return to the England fold came first and he is determined to return to his talismanic best. "It is disappointing not to be able to play for Chennai who have been very supportive throughout my time with them," he added. "But I took this decision because I love playing cricket and want to give myself the best chance of extending my career. "I have worked extremely hard over the last few months to get to this position and realise there is a lot more hard work in front of me if I want to return and play international cricket again. "But if I am going to go through another six months of hard rehabilitation and training for long hours, I need a big incentive to be the driving force of that and playing for Lancashire and England again will become that. "During my time in rehabilitation I have been watching England playing well in South Africa and it has made me realise how much I have missed cricket. "For the first time in my career I have watched old footage of myself playing on youtube and I want to get back to playing like that again." Lancashire cricket director Mike Watkinson was happy with the news. "The latest update from the specialist indicates that Fred's right knee is recovering better than anyone expected following surgery for a micro-fracture," Watkinson said. "It's this very positive report which has led to Fred's decision to play more than just one-day cricket for Lancashire. "It is disappointing that he won't be able to return to action until midway through our season, but to have a stronger Fred available for all formats of cricket can only be a great thing for Lancashire."

I can understand that some of you want IPL to end but do you really want it to end because of fear ? If we bow down to mofo shivsenas now in IPL, its only a matter of time every other team completely refuses to tour us. Why is the Govt not arresting these bastards for inflammatory remarks ?
^ Not wanting to end becos of Senas. Those idjets need to be thrown behind bars. The reason to end is just that the circus is spoiling the cricket calendar for Tests and also injuring and wasting our bowlers.
