teacup
no' date=' u r wrong, he usually bowls 120ish[/quote'] Absolem barely touched 120 today...Ganapathy gets another wicket. Thakker out. Btw, Ganapathy has slowed down since his first spell. He is bowling at 119-120 kph now but with better control now and troubling the batsmen more often. Link to comment
teacup
Umpire Hariharan has seemingly made up his mind to not give LBWs. Ganapathy is the unlucky bowler again. Link to comment

saneindian
108(76) for Bade Pathan. One of the most brutal innings in the domestic cricket this season. Looks like he is warming up nicely for the IPL and t20 WC. Link to comment
Rajan
Ganapathy gets a Fiver..WZ-192-8 Ganapathy gets a fiver. Yusuf got a whirlwind ton..108 off 70 odd balls. SZ should bat better in the 2nd innings. there is some assistance for the seamers in the morning , dew factor. otherwise there is no help whatsoever. hope the SZ batsmen dont lose wickets to Irfan pathan/Dhawal tomorrow morning.. zubinpepsi
Doesn't it reveal the seam bowling stocks of your zone when you have to include a utility player even in Ranji squad as your third seamer of the zonal squad? How can you reward a bowler who was not even in top 15 of wicket takers in Ranji trophy? This is a FC match and not a damn List A' date=' for heavens sake!![/quote'] :hahaha: the so called pathetic utlility player pwned West Zone big time.. Link to comment
Rajan
:hahaha: the so called pathetic utlility player pwned West Zone big time.. 251 all out. 149 lead to SZ. Ganapathy may be in the top 3 of allrounders based on this year's domestic performances. takes crucial wickets and scores important runs for TN despite his limitations..Honest trier. Link to comment

I wonder what petty reason Chandan will come up with to put down Ganapathy's performance. I am sure whatever it is it will be fun to read :--D Link to comment

jusarrived
no' date=' u r wrong, he usually bowls 120ish[/quote'] thees something really wrong with speed guns I watched Pathans first spell yesterday & thot he was bowling very quick ..looked high 130s atleast , but it showed low 120s . from what i saw Ganapathy is a mid 130s bowler & Aboslem high 120s , but quite nippy . Ashwin , Ganapathy & IP should be drafted into the ODI side Link to comment
saneindian
Ganpathy does have the build for a good pacer. With him picking up wickets, it gives us another option, if we need batting all rounder we have Ganpathy, and for a bowling all rounder we have Irfan/Jadeja. Nayar unfortunately hasn'st bowled much off late, else he too could have been an option. Link to comment
zubinpepsi
i wudnt mind trying some new guys instead of sticking with this failed and inconsistent bowlers like ishant, nehra and sreesanth Link to comment

Feed
Ganapathy claims five as South take huge lead South Zone have an overall lead of 191 on Day 2 of the Duleep Trophy final after finishing with 400 in their first innings and dismissing West Zone for 251. They were 42 without loss in their second innings. More... South Zone v West Zone, Duleep Trophy final, Hyderabad, 2nd day Ganapathy's five-for puts South in command Cricinfo staff February 3, 2010 South Zone 400 (Dinesh Karthik 183, Irfan Pathan 5-100) and 42 for 0 lead West Zone 251 (Yusuf 108, Ganapathy 5-75) by 191 runs Scorecard and ball-by-ball details C Ganapathy hurried the batsmen with his pace to take 5 for 75 A five-wicket haul by the Tamil Nadu seamer C Ganapathy overshadowed an exciting counter-attacking century by Yusuf Pathan as South Zone took firm control against West Zone on the second day in Hyderabad. South were bowled out for 400 and when Ganapathy made inroads into the top order, a big first-innings lead was in the offing. Yusuf resisted in breath-taking fashion, but West still fell short of the total by 149. South's captain Dinesh Karthik resumed on his overnight 161 and ultimately fell for 183. Irfan Pathan was again among the wickets in the morning and he went on to take his 14th first-class five-wicket haul when he sent Aushik Srinivas' off stump for a spin to end the innings. West needed a strong start after conceding 400 but lost their openers by the fifth over, both to Ganapathy. A lot hinged on Wasim Jaffer to pilot the innings but he misjudged a good delivery by Ganapathy, which shaped in and deflected to the slips off his glove as he tried to leave the ball. Bhavik Thaker was squared up by another peach, which shaved his off stump as he played down the wrong line. West were desperately in need of repair work at 70 for 4 and Yusuf chose attack as the best form of defence. He wasn't afraid to loft over the infield each time the ball was pitched up. He smashed five sixes, peppering four over the bowler's head and one down to fine leg. West needed a couple of big partnerships after their early setback but they couldn't manage a single half-century stand. It was an exciting passage of play after lunch when Yusuf took on the bowling, before the bowlers hit back. Srinivas, the left-arm spinner, took the prize scalp after Yusuf had reached 108, trapping him in front. Irfan and Ramesh Powar got off to starts, playing some fluent drives off the front foot, but perished to Alfred Absolem and Ganapathy respectively. Ganapathy hurried the batsmen with his pace and was aptly rewarded with a five-wicket haul. The lower order took the score past 250 before the South openers stretched the lead to 191. With three days to go, this was South's game to lose. Link to comment
Chandan
:hahaha: the so called pathetic utlility player pwned West Zone big time.. Well done by Ganapathy. He took the wickets of domestic giants here and as far as I read, he bowled with terrific accuracy and swing and troubled everyone. Hope he carries on that way. Utility player or not, wicket taking is no joke and Ganpathy has taken as many wickets as Irfan Pathan in less number of overs. Link to comment
Ram
There was once a time when I used to get really excited about such innings from Yusuf.. (with the rest of the team crumbling 'round him, he will blast a 80 ball 100).. Not anymore.. :(( Link to comment
vvvslaxman
yup. Fact is Yusuf is not at all reliable. Link to comment
