zen Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 BUMP baasu is the only batsman to avg more than 50 (with atleast 500 runs) against 7 different countries. Heres the list of batsmen that have done it against 5 or more teams. SR Tendulkar 7 R Dravid 6 KC Sangakkara 6 Inzamam-ul-Haq 5 DPMD Jayawardene 5 AR Border 5 Mohammad Yousuf 5 JH Kallis 5 RT Ponting 5 V Sehwag 5 Allan Border probably played against less teams than some of the guys in that list but then he had more matches against the teams he played Would be interesting, if we take BD and Zim (post 2003 as I guess it was a decent team till 2003) out.

zen Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 The bar was reduced to just 200 runs :--D SR Tendulkar 6 RT Ponting 5 V Sehwag 5 R Dravid 5 AR Border 5 Inzamam-ul-Haq 5 JH Kallis 5 KC Sangakkara 5 Would be interesting to see how many average 50 against different teams on away basis based on say 250 runs (half of original 500 runs). All the 8 above are very good batsmen but I get a feeling someone like Sangakara or Haq's fig could get hurt
punjabi_khota Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 ^Sehwag has pretty poor record in BD,NZ,SA and IIRC averages under 40 in Eng
goose Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 So the longest serving player tops the list in spite of 50 being the new 40 !
SachDan Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Had Sachin scored a century today, he would have been the first batsman to score test hundreds 20 years apart! A super record that. But we are made to wait one more week to see that happening :(
Karan114 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 The ODI 90's are bad enough but the Test 90's really, really hurt :((
Tapioca Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Nothing much to do tonight, so doing this : The comparison between the corresponding innings played by SRT and RTP in the last three series : 2007/8 in Aus, 2008 in India, 2010 in India .....SRT RTP T1I1 62 4 T1I2 15 3 T2I1 154* 55 T2I2 12 1 T3I1 71 20 T3I2 13 45 T4I1 153 140 T4I2 13 - SRT 6 Ponting 1 T1I1 13 123 T1I2 49 17 T2I1 88 5 T2I2 10* 2 T3I1 68 87 T3I2 47 - T4I1 109 24 T4I2 12 8 SRT 5 Ponting 2 T1I1 98 71 SRT 1 Pontng 0
Sachinism Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 And let's not forget the difference in bowling attacks.
SachDan Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Another world record for the batting maestro. Makes 1000 runs in a calendar year for the sixth time :hatsoff:
The Dark Horse Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 BB, can you post the 2nd innings averages of all players, VVS should be up there in the list.
