mhr123 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 surely we wud be back with a bang... this shows how we are depended upon VVS and RD... it was the 1st time since 1996 that both of them were missing at the same time from the lineup.. We were not used to lose such key members at one go... so surely we wud be back with a bang in the next test. :isalute:
Karan114 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 He was going to lose at some stage, especially against a strong team like SA, but an innings defeat at home is miserable.
Don Sharma Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 lol, on reading the thread title I was hoping to see few pics of Deepika Padukone:woot: Jokes apart, we'll do well in Kolkata:isalute:
Sachinism Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 SA played some brilliant cricket while we played like amateurs
Ranjha Posted February 9, 2010 Author Posted February 9, 2010 Lost by an innings..Hopefully, better batting performance in the next test.
Riley's Girl Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Had Mahi's first loss come against any other team in the world, I'd have been extremely upset.
zen Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 It was time, he payed for his mistakes. Now matter what, he sticks with playing 7 batsmen even if the squad doesn't have one, goes on the defensive at hint of pitch not doing something or batsmen settling down Hard to swallow that Mishy was made to bowl defensive lines. He is a leggie, bowl him to get you wkts. otherwise there is no point in having him in the team. Tendulkar too can bowl leg spin and bowl defensive lines
DomainK Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Had Mahi's first loss come against any other team in the world' date=' I'd have been extremely upset.[/quote'] True that. If I had been asked to select an opposition for Dhoni's first test loss, I would have picked SA and no other team. SA and Australia seem the only two worthy oppositions and losing against Australia is not something I would chose by will. But knowing that this loss had to come someday, it couldn't have come against a better team and it couldn't have come against a better performance.

achilles Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 It happens. And I'm sure we'll be back in the next test and maybe, win it comprehensively :two_thumbs_up: lol' date= on reading the thread title I was hoping to see few pics of Deepika Padukone:woot: Jokes apart, we'll do well in Kolkata:isalute: We wouldn't mind, would we? :--D
Vikas Bhatt Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 What a dimbulb is Dhoni picking Bhajji [One 5 wicket haul in 13 tests now] and Saha over a specialist batsman?
saneindian Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Forget this loss and start another unbeaten run At Eden. Go MSD go.
asterix Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 What a dimbulb is Dhoni picking Bhajji [1 5 wicket haul in 13 tests now] and Saha over a specialist batsman? Bhajji cannot be dropped for many years now. Atleast till Dhoni is captain. Bhajji has very good relations with Dhoni. After gifting Dhoni a SUV, he has also forged business relationship with him. Both Dhoni & Bhajji are business partners in joint venture invesments in Mumbai real estates. So there..
Anakin Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Dhoni's first loss in tests Kaif should've been played in stead of playing 3 rookies. I never really got it, Kaif is more suitable for tests and that's where he's been ignored for too long.
gult Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 No shame in losing to this SA side .. If we counter steyn well in the 2nd test, the job is half done.
The Outsider Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The positive is that Dhoni finally has a Win-Loss ratio which is computable on machines. Infinity was giving Intel a hard time for far too long.

Why would Dhoni want to drop Bhajji? It will directly affect Bhajji's earning and their joint venture.. That's why forget about Bhajji getting out of the team. He will only sit out if injured. Till Dhoni is captain, nobody can touch Dartbhajan.. :--D Dhoni and Bhajji are not only good friends on the field, but also off it. Even though the spinner hasn’t been in his best form in the past year or so, Dhoni has always backed him. This deal will, no doubt, take their relationship to a different level.
