Ram Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Sarah Palin ridiculed by critics after turning her hand to crib notes Sarah Palin is facing fresh doubts about her readiness for high office after being caught reading crib notes scrawled on her hand to prompt her on the core principles of conservatism. Video footage showed Mrs Palin glancing down at the palm of her left hand — on which the words “energyâ€, “budget cutsâ€, “tax†and “lift American spirits†had been written in ink — during a question-and-answer session at the grassroots Tea Party convention last week. The word “budget†had been crossed out. Mrs Palin’s detractors have ridiculed the crib notes — already being called the “Hillbilly Palm Pilot†— noting that basic conservative principles are something she should surely be able to remember without help. Minutes before she used the notes she had castigated President Obama in a prepared speech as a “charismatic guy with a teleprompterâ€. As John McCain’s running-mate in 2008, Mrs Palin struggled in interviews when asked about current events and world affairs — a lack of knowledge that hurt the Republican ticket. At one point she said that she was qualified to deal with the threat from Russia because she could see Russia from Alaska. In Race of a Lifetime, a book about the 2008 campaign recently serialised in The Times, former aides to Mr McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, described how Mrs Palin said that she absorbed information best from 5in x 7in index cards. Every piece of information, such as the names of world leaders, had to be written on the cards; soon she had towers of them and referred to them constantly. During an interview at the weekend, the former Alaska Governor acknowledged questions about her preparedness for high office when she said: “Now that my focus has been enlarged, I sure as heck better be more astute on these current events.†In typical Palin fashion, she has taken the criticism — almost all of which has come from the American Left — head on and has begun to mock it as a controversy stirred up by one of her favourite targets, that she calls the “liberal news mediaâ€. Campaigning with Rick Perry, the Texas Governor, after pictures emerged of her hand notes, she waved to a crowd with “Hi Mom†scrawled on her palm. The ridicule over Mrs Palin’s cribsheet came a day after she gave the clearest indication yet that her ambition is to become President. Despite persistent doubts about her knowledge of world affairs and aptitude for detail, Mrs Palin enjoys passionate support among grassroots and conservative Republican. The Republican primary for 2012 is a long way off, but she has been ranked as the top candidate if she chose to throw her hat into the ring. When asked in an interview at the weekend about her intention to run, she said: “I would, if I believed that that was the right thing to do for my country and for my family.†http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article7021092.ece And this is a rather funny response by the White House; Palm reader Gibbs mocks Palin's list White House spokesman Robert Gibbs has read out a shopping list scribbled on his palm, lampooning conservative darling Sarah Palin, who used a similar trick to remember her political script. Palin has been widely mocked for apparently writing a list of political aspirations on her hand during a convention of "Tea Party" activists at the weekend-- a move that fitted with a media narrative that she lacks depth. Gibbs made his jab during a briefing from the White House podium. "I wrote a few things down," Gibbs said, before flashing his left palm, on which he had written "eggs and milk" and then bread and crossed it out. "And then I wrote down 'hope and change', just in case I forgot ..." Gibbs said, naming President Barack Obama's main 2008 campaign themes. Palin, the defeated Republican vice-presidential candidate in 2008, was shown in news photographs to have the words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" scrawled on her hand on Saturday. Her palm also appeared to have the words "Budget cuts" scribbled across it, with the "Budget" crossed out. Palin was seen glancing at the notes after her highly acclaimed speech in a question and answer session when asked the top three things a conservative-led Congress should do. AFP :cantstop:
Clarke Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 There is a decent chance she will be President/Vice President. All the republicans need to do is block whatever reform is pushed by the house, which they can in the current senate. Let the economy/healthcare secnario stagnate and attack Obama for his term. This probably will work well for them. Sarah Barracuda already has the right wing going for her: pro-jesus, pro-gun, anti-gay, lower taxes, big military/defense .. one terror strike on US soil and mission accomplished. Let see how Zardari responds in case bimbo wins.
graphic23 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Forgetting all this for a moment, she attacked democrats for using the "R" word (Retard), and then defended Rush Limbaugh for the same saying that he was being satirical! What a ****ing retard. (Stephen Colbert )
Mr. Wicket Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Forget the articles, Sriram. Watch the Colbert Report episode from yesterday (thanks G for reminding me - about 20 times). Absolutely hysterical.
punjabi_khota Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 She will never become the president. Never ever.
Texy Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 you never know...with the popularity of Obama going down by the day....it may come to a point where Americans would vote for anyone other than Obama...just like they voted for anyone but Bush
punjabi_khota Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Lol dude...she was ripped apart when she tried for Vice-President. Can you imagine the amount the scrutiny she would get if she started a bid for the hot-seat ? She is a class-1 retard, and stands no chance.

Forget the articles, Sriram. Watch the Colbert Report episode from yesterday (thanks G for reminding me - about 20 times). Absolutely hysterical. Hmm, there's always been this suspicion that Colbert is a closet liberal. :hmmm:
Guest Hiten. Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 She is just representing American populace :finger:

She got great on-the-job training during the 2008 elections on what to expect when running for President and she'll much better prepared come 2012. But one of the things that we can infer from this rather comical sequence of events is that Sarah is almost CERTAIN to be GOP's candidate for President. Else, why would the current administration take her on by mocking her? They obviously see her as a definite opposition candidate.
cowboysfan Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 what are you guys talking about?do you not see the potential entertainment value if she becomes the president?.that is 4 years of bliss!!
graphic23 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 If she becomes president, Zardari will practically live in the US :hehe:
Zap_Brannigan Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 When did Americans vote for anyone but Bush?
Ram Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 If you dont like Sarah 'Hockey Mom' Palin, you gotto watch this video. This came out around the time she was nominated to be the VP to McCain. Matt Damon delivers what can only be described as an elbow from the sky; C6urw_PWHYk After seeing this, I dunno how ANY sane-minded American can ever vote for this women.

Deep into the recession, 45+ % of the American people voted for John McCain who's VP pick was that dodo. What would u think would be the result if a) The recession isnt over and unemployment remains high. b) One terror attack is successful in Obama's term. The people will go nuts once again and vote for whoever is the Republican candidate. The candidate (possibly Sarah) shall promise them lower taxes, lower deficit and improved defense and remind them of Reagan, which probably will work.
Guest Gunner Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Looks like Jesus and his gang will win the 2012 elections.

coffee_rules Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 For all the jibes she gets, she will rally around the conservative base, as she was held back by McCain in 2008.
Lurker Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 For all the jibes she gets' date=' [b']she will rally around the conservative base, as she was held back by McCain in 2008. It is not the most difficult thing in the world to rally Conservative base. They generally vote en-masse anyway.
