What an amazing performance by the galiticos of India. Proving we are number 1 in the world. Came back after big loss in 1st test to bounce back like champions on the rope to destroy SA at Eden Gardens. Injuries to team meant no Dravid, Yuvraj and Sree. Thus we won and were not at full strength even. Our number one pacer got injured and could not even bowl day 5. Yet we still found the resolve to bowl them out. We needed time to win and bowl them out. Yet lost most of day 4 when needed time the most. Yet got the job done. Lost a crucial toss , yet still skittled them on a beaut of a batting track day 1. The above shows what champions we are , as still won this must win game despite everyting going against us by an innings. Only the best team in the world could do this under such circumstances. WE HAVE PROVED INDIA IS THE NUMBER 1 TEAM IN THE WORLD:isalute:

Yeah this is just an amazing victory given all the hurdles. Like a true champion we rose above them and slaughtered them by an innings and 60 runs. What a team this Indian side is!

easily the most satisfying year of supporting the indian team ...we have had some very big wins in the past , but the consistency this team has shown is very unlike an indian team ....Dhoni deserves most of the credit imo !

This win was VERY important in the sense that not only was it a very admirable comeback after 0-1 down in a 2 test match series, it also helped us retain our no.1 ranking and shut some people for some more time. Already, when we became no.1, there were murmurs doing the rounds that we didnt exactly deserve to be no.1 and how the lack of a potent pace attack would mean our reign at the top would mean short-lived. To top it all, international players of all shapes and sizes, starting from Mohammed Yousuf to Shakib-Al-Hassan were commenting on how they thought Australia was the best team in the world. If we had lost/drawn the 2nd test and relinquished the no.1 spot, all the naysayers would have gone 'Ahaaaaaaaaaaaa.. see, I told you India wasnt good enough to be no.1'.The victory in the 2nd test has denied them that opportunity and showed people the world that no.1 ranking wasnt a fluke and not only are we good enough to get there, we're also resilient enough to stay there.

It does not have the run machines in it as none of the youngsters have steeped up to to te plate. This is summed up by you having a makeshift opener in Watson and having to perservere with the ordinary Katich.

To be fair none of the youngsters have really had a chance to step up to the plate and when they have (one dayers) they have shown that they are capable. As for Watson, I think everyone can see that he is no longer a makeshift opener but instead is a very good one. As for Katich, he just got voted Australia's best test player, I'm very surprised that you think he is ordinary. We have Hughes to come in for the future.
