Check for Wasim Akram legend or something. Let me see if I can dig that out for you. Waqar apologized to Wasim in that video and mentioned he was only a whistle blewer. In fact he was convinced into revolting by the seniors in the team.

Earlier, Younis had said he was no longer interested in coaching the team, and that he would reveal the reasons behind the Australia debacle. Pakistan were swamped 3-0 in the Test series and 5-0 in the one-day series in Australia and Younis said there were some ''non-cricketing reasons'' for the pitiable show. Younis has been associated with the Pakistani team prior to the Australia series as well. During his previous tenure in 2006, he helped Pakistani bowlers to improve their techniques before resigning owing to differences with the board and officials. New chief selector Pakistan named former test batsman Mohsin Khan as Iqbal Qasim's successor as chief selector. "It is a big honour for me but I also consider this position as the biggest challenge of my cricket career as the national team needs to show more consistency and discipline in its performances," Mohsin said. The 54-year-old replaces former Test spinner Qasim who quit last month after the team were whitewashed in the Test and One-day series in Australia. Mohsin, who played 48 Tests and 75 One-day Internationals between 1978 and 1986, said his first priority would be to pick a strong squad for Pakistan's title defence at the Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean in April and May.

Talking to media persons here, PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said Younis has been given a contract till December 2011. Butt said names of former left-arm fast bowler Wasim Akram along with some foreigners were also in consideration for the coach’s job but the board zeroed in on Younis. “We had a choice between Younis and Wasim Akram, but since Akram was busy with his commitments in media, we decided to appoint Younis as the new coach” The Dawn quoted Butt, as saying. “Foreign coaches were demanding big money and were willing to work with our team only when its touring some other country. This was not acceptable to us,” he added. Younis will be replacing Intikhab Alam, who has been appointed the director cricket academies. Butt said Alam, a former test spinner, will groom youngsters in cricket academies at Lahore and Karachi. “Soon, we will have two more academies in Multan and Islamabad and Alam's services will be utilized in all these four academies,” he added.

That is a reasonably low salary demanded by the coach of the most popular sport in the country.

Although it might seem a bit low to us (ok, it even is to a certain extent), 6.5 lakhs PER MONTH is quite remarkable, given the financial (in)stability of the PCB. I'll credit them for paying that much :hatsoff:

I also felt the same .. I think even Akram must have been paid 10 times that money for teaching Akshay bowling for his upcoming film .. bloody even a good enough businessman would earn that much money ... and Waqar must have anyways earned more than that in Australia where he was living .. Pakis are really funny :cantstop:

Yes, it depends on the standard and cost of life in Pakistan. If the expenses are not too high, it may well be a decent salary. He must save as much as he can as he will be thrown out any moment.
