Gunner_Mania Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I was around when we won the 83 WC and then the 86 Benson & Hedges WorldCup and ofcourse 2007 one. I was also around when we beat Aus in Perth and SAF in Joburg ... I know which ones I cherish the most. :hmmm: You mean the 1986 Benson & Hedges World Series?

punjabi_khota Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 These "I would like Sachin to " ....threads are getting pretty boring. :hitler: In b4 some guys asks sachin to f^*( his wife for him.
jaideep Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 the only spanner in the works could be the useless and worthless IPL..sachin plays every game with more than 100 % cmmittment.i hope he does not do himself any harm playing IPL..which could shorten his international career
EnterTheVoid Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 In b4 some guys asks sachin to f^*( his wife for him. Too good :hysterical:
Deleted_User_1 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Gavaskar played till 40-41, I guess(?)..Imran Khan was 42 when he retired. These guys played in an era when the tours were not as crowded together as they are now. So I don't see Sachin outdoing them. Also does anyone know who was the oldest player to take the field? I think it was Rohan Kenhai.. Gavaskar was 38 when he retired, not 40-41.
99.94 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I just want India to somehow win the 2011 World Cup. I'd give up upto 10 years from my lifespan only for this wish to come true. ........................................................
SRT PWNS Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 It would be a dream come true to see him play until the 2015 World Cup!
straight.drive Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 That is very unlikely. His body would say "no more" at some point of time. My gut feeling is that he would retire at the end of 2012.
Jersey #10 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 he should stop playing meaningless Tests after he gets 50 test centuries. He can then devote more time for ODIs and win the WC.

TSAG_RGB Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Ok, this thread is not for critics or Sachin haters, both of whom love spoiling the party. It was some days previously when India TV (in all probability) aired this special program on Sachin's future. It has been learnt from reliable sources that Sachin is doing his best to keep his body fit and training real hard to compete with guys much younger than him. For this he has been undergoing various types of yoga and fitness sessions. Various people were interviewed who were employees of a certain training center and they gave details about the fitness regime that Sachin regularly undergoes to keep himself fit and agile. One of the employees was saying how Sachin would instruct the AC to be switched off so that he could sweat practicing. It's also been said that he follows a very strict diet routine that would help him physically in the long run. Add to that, he places a lot of importance on having proper rest and sleep. As hard as he works, he sleeps adequately so that his body can recuperate. Overall, it can be assured that he has been going a very special routine which includes fitness, diet, physical therapies, yoga, etc. Now the real deal. Before saying it I'm once again requesting the critics to not spoil the part with their obnoxious remarks. If you have nothing good to say, then stay away from this thread. Here's the news - Sachin is planning to play the 2015 World Cup as well. Although it looks too far fetched to me, I'd be happy if he can continue in Test cricket till 2012. If he manages to play even till 2012, he'll once again tour Australia where he'll get the chance to help India win a Test series there. Later this year India will tour South Africa and India will get it's chance to win a Test series there. Also, there is a Test series in Sri Lanka mid year where once again India will get a chance to win a Test series there. Overall, from the team's perspective, I want Sachin to achieve - 1. A Test series victory in Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. 2. A World Cup victory. From a player's perspective, I'd like him to finish his career with averages of - 1. 45+ in ODI cricket. 2. 57+ in Test cricket. The only way Sachin can play WC 2015 is by coming out of retirement.
Lord Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 That is very unlikely. His body would say "no more" at some point of time. My gut feeling is that he would retire at the end of 2012. yeah on Dec. 21,2012 n hence the world will end:--D
Karan114 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 he should stop playing meaningless Tests after he gets 50 test centuries. He can then devote more time for ODIs and win the WC. Surprised you haven't said he should quit ODIs as well and just return to playing your beloved T20, eh?
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 It would be a dream come true to see him play until the 2015 World Cup! Only if India wins the 2011 World Cup. Or else the vultures will be out to feast over the line 'No WC victories even after a record 7 chances'.
Sachinism Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Only if India wins the 2011 World Cup. Or else the vultures will be out to feast over the line 'No WC victories even after a record 7 chances'. You can retort with yeh we went in with a world-beating side in all those WC's
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 If only winning a World Cup could have been done single handedly, SRT would have won 2 World Cups in his last 5 attempts. Twice he has been the highest scorer in World Cups (1996 and 2006) outperforming every other batsman in those tournaments. I wish Ganguly elected to bat first after winning the toss in the 2003 WC Finals, things could have been so different.
