I think Uthappa would have been a better choice. Me thinks captain doesn't like Uthappa or captain thinks we need someone who can play with a little more control than Uthappa can. Anyways, missing Sehwag will be a huge huge blow for us. He can also bowl part-time if necessary.
A replacement for an opener should be an opener! :dontknow: And he will be fantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab

He looked out of touch throughout IPL but with Viru' date=' you never know when he's going to blast his way in to form so we'll definitely miss him :([/quote'] We'll miss him big time for sure!:((

I think as a Pakistani fan this is great news, Sehwag is a very destructive batsmen, we all know this. The reason why India won in 2007 I feel was because Sehwag and Gambhir at the top were able to assess the wickets quickly and then play accordingly. Sehwag's sheer presence was enough to put the element of fear and awe in the other sides. Murali Vijay is the right replacement in my opinion, he is a controlled aggressive batsman, one who will see out the good bowlers and target the weaker ones. I think Sehwag not playing decreases India's chances of winning by 15%, he would have been a huge factor. But I must also say, that only India has the talent in terms of batting to replace such an influential player. Well it's a big relief for other sides that he's not going play, a massive relief.

Not too concerned by this. Veeru looked very out of sorts and disinterested through out the IPL. I hardly ever saw him getting involved in the game. I wonder if it is actually an injury or something else.

Uthappa would have been better, he has experience playing in T20 WCs and also in WI. In his better form, he would have won matches single handedly. Now, it's all lotter. Damn you, Dhoni.

Hope Vijay is given all the freedom to play shots much like he gets for CSK. Yes. Vijay has transformed. But it is still not his natural game. So his success largely depends on the role he is assigned to. But a spirited player neverthless.
