Shoaib Akhtar in NCL T20 3 matches 11 Overs 95 runs 1 wicket Econ: 8.63 He has made $18,000 for this performance. No wonder that Chittagong has released him with 2 matches to go.
But didn't he bowled today? and their were some for in edges and at least 1 drop catch?:--D

Yes BD fielding is laughable. but still the Paki players that the teams bought in are not even on par with the BD domestic players based on their performance I saw. We could do better by bringing in a few players from SA, NZ, even Zim (national squad). ________ vaporizer volcano

I'm fit and bowling in rhythm - Shoaib Shoaib Akhtar, the controversial and injury-prone Pakistan fast bowler, has not given up hope of making an international comeback, assuring that his form and fitness in the ongoing RBS Pentangular one-day tournament in Karachi has been up to the mark. Shoaib was speaking after taking a match-winning 6 for 52 to guide Federal Areas Leopards to a convincing win against Khyber-Pakthunkhwa Panthers. Shoaib last played for Pakistan during the limited-overs series against Australia in the UAE last year. He was omitted for the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies later this month and got in trouble with the PCB for violating the terms of his central contract. "I am fit and bowling in rhythm," Shoaib said. "I don't want to live in the past. Now I am fit and playing and have proved my fitness. My performance has never been in doubt, so it's now up to the selectors when they give me a chance." Shoaib attributed the below-par performances in his past few series to a persistent knee problem, which has been corrected through surgery. Also, the rise of Mohammad Aamer and the return of Mohammad Asif have pushed him further out of national reckoning. He has not played a Test for Pakistan since December 2007. "I have experience which is precious and my competition is only with myself," Akhtar said. "I know I have suffered fitness problems but all fast bowlers suffer with that. I am still focused and want to play for Pakistan and finish on a high." His first target is to get selected for the "home" series against Australia in England this summer, but his ultimate goal is to make it to the World Cup next year and hopefully play a big role in seeing his team go all the way. "I know the problems I have faced in my career, but the dream to feature in the final of the 2011 World Cup in Mumbai is still alive and I want to help Pakistan win the World Cup in a year's time." 116400.2.jpg :giggle:

Rawalpindi Express coming back on track...Realistically speaking, in this game he was looking at best fitness level of last 3 to 4 years... In recent past he was looking very much over weight but now he is in very good shape overall, he have not yet given it up and eager to come back in team, more importantly this time he want to come by proving his fitness and performance as well.

What makes you think he would do well at the international level just coz he picks a few freebies against shi**iest batsmen in the world in a low quality domestic tournament. Last time i saw Dilshan tore him into pieces.

Lol, here we go again. The typical Pakistani 'Ignorance-is-bliss' mentality at it again. One spell of fast bowling and Shoaib is their messiah all over again. Btw, cant wait for this guy to get back in the field in Pakistani colors and mess up their team.

On a lighter note Indians are simply not ready to belive or even think that he can bowl at international level again... Lol...

The only person in Pakistan who think Shoaib Akhtar can play for Pakistan again, is Shoaib Akhtar. He should have been banned along with Asif for 5 years and never been allowed to play for Pakistan again. But he's not coming back, he's too old, too fat and too unreliable. I'm glad we've moved on, he almost ruined the team with his dressing room antics.

you mean you guys believe he can make a comeback ??:haha:..for someone to come back to active international duty after this long a break and being unfit..etc..sorry...not happening. That would require someone with the athletic prowess and resolve of... say.... - Mohd Ali !.. Even Rocky Balboa lost his final fight...:winky:

He's over, but one thing when ever this chubby guy makes a few over come back he consistently keeps it quick and bowl 90+. He's done now. It's time to move one. This guy in full rhythm (maybe short) was one of the best things to watch in cricket.
