He is a humble boy. You can hardly hear him speak. Hailing from a small village near Viajawada, he is touted to be the next super star in the IPL. Deccan Chargers have reportedly offered him a deal worth $750/yr for the next 6 years, the highest offered by any team for a rookie in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals have expressed interest in Ramalingalu as well. Shane Warne believes Ramalingalu is the missing piece of the puzzle who can take his team to a second title in the IPL. It is not surprising that teams are excited about Ramalingalu. He is after all the best cow lasher in his village. Apparently he can wield the whip like no other. In a controlled experiment run last month, an independent consulting company reportedly measured Ramaling wieldging 2 million lashes a minute. "Cows are terrified of Ramalingalu & they start milking at the sight of Ramalinga", quipped a local villager. So fast is his whipping cycle that the kinetic energy he generates in the process is often used to power water pumps in the village. Physicists from Princeton University, obviously curious about this strange phenomenon, have setup numerous windmills in Viajawada to study the potential of this new form of energy. Apparently many scientists believe that this is the greenest form of energy available today. With several foreign energy companies lining up, the Indian finance minister was obviously thrilled at the possible GDP boost this new infusion of foreign capital can create. But Ramaligalu does not want to turn himself to a toy for scientists. His heart is clearly with the IPL. "I see a big future for me in the IPL. I can swing faster than Afridi or Pollard", said Ramalinga. But Ramalinga is no longer just a potential star in the IPL. He has also become a phenomenon. Several IPL coaches have ordered their team management to hire cow lashers from local villages as batting coaches for their teams. In another development, IPL chief Lalit Modi believes that new rules have to be brought in to make IPL more exciting. Among others the proposed changes involve declaring all deliveries that do not connect to a batsman's swing as wides, pushing boundary lines to mid on and introducing timeouts every 3 mins to improve adveritising revenue. With 24 more IPL teams to be added and Ramalingalu set to make his debut in IPL4, the future looks bright for Indian cricket.

why does the name rhyme with ramalinga raju of the satyam fame? coinkydinky? i don't think so.
why does your moniker have 'ball' in it and you like Shoaib Akhtar? coinkydinky? I dont think so.

I would like to nominate BossBhai's posts in http://indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=258382 for POTW (Posts of the Week) This IPL is the sh-it-tiest thing to have happened in the last few years. This is going to be a death knell for quality Indian batsmen and bowlers to emerge in the future. Welcome to the era of Cowlashers. We thought getting all out for 136 at Centurion was bad. Wait for some more years. At least now we got the Pujaras and the Rahanes who emerged before this T20 and I.P.L (Indian Puke League) took over the world. In the next set of yengsters (post Pujara and Rahane) we will get a whole bunch of cowlashers who will get all out for 50 in South Africa or Engerland Not just batting cowlashers, what about the bowlers? Will we get the attacking spinners? Will we get bowlers who can bowl long spells and use guile in Test cricket (both pacers and spinners)? Will there be that BURNING DESIRE to tough it out and go the long road to represent India at Test level - the highest honor? Will we get another Gavaskar, a Tendulkar (or 50% of him), a Dravid, a Laxman, a Zaheer, a Kapil Dev, a Kumble!??? ever Oh bowl the 4 overs and at most a "Super Over" :giggle: Future Indian yengsters' dreams will be to make it to Tuntee Tintee leagues :banghead: More piss poor Ishant Sharmas and down-the-drain Irfan Pathan and RP Singhs and Chawals and Jaadoos :mad: Fie on that Lalit Modi and BCCI for effectively corrupting Indian cricket Ramalingalu vs Soanpappidiwala battle of the titans
