Zelig Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I flew for 24 hours last week. Inflight, I watched: Week with Marilyn: jizzed in my pants :omg: 7/10 overall, 1000/10 for the heroine Descendants: Very cool and confused movie 8.5/10 Big year: Weird very different movie about people who watch birds7/10 Something borrowed : Chick flick to the max. Very sad crap. 4/10 The actress in My week with Marilyn is Michelle Williams. She bagged an AA nomination for her role. She is quite famous. She is the ex-partner of Late Heath Ledger. :icflove:
Prakat Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 2/10 Agent Vinod. yawnfest, wasn't drawn into the story, a nothing film. Heard so much about Saif's wisecracks and found out there were just one or two and that too badly delivered. Only plus was seeing Maryam :icflove: two points for that. :D
coffee_rules Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 ^^ Not a bad movie, better than any of SRK movies. Couple of editing techniques were good, when he shows 2 fight sequences, one in present time and one in the flashback, both at the same time. Slick technique. Also, another fight sequence with a song as background. Unique. Shriram Raghavan (Johnny Gaddar/Ek Hasina Thi) is the director. Background score - Retro stuff was good. The Mujra/Qawwali was a letdown, but for dancers. Maryam looked better than Kareena both in dancing and looks.
audioman Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Slick technique. Also, another fight sequence with a song as background. Unique. We saw that in Aamir already.
Zelig Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Man on Wire - 4/5 Brilliant story telling for a documentary :hatsoff:
Nova Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Kahaani 7/10 Good thriller. Loved the editing, cinematography and the Kolkata backdrop. I loled at Vidya Balan being a hacker. :hahaha:
Texy Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I loled at Vidya Balan being a hacker. :hahaha: Why not?? She can hack into my pants anytime she wants
Nova Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Why not?? She can hack into my pants anytime she wants  Your pants have zero encryption... forget Vidya Balan..any girl could hack into it :D.
DomainK Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I liked her acting in JWM... Katrina might be more glamorous but lacks in acting skills. :headshake: The only movie of her I have seen is ZNMD and I have heard that that's her best one yet. Yeah, in JWM her performance was great and she deserved all the awards for that. But unless she can repeat such performances, it will go down as an exception and the director will justly claim the credit for it. Kat does not need to act. She can just smile and make up for everything else.
Prakat Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Going to watch Kahani at inorbit in ten minutes. :aha: Sitting in the food court. :D
Nova Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Paan Singh Tomar 3/10 Any doubts on the sanity of Irfan Khan are dispelled after this one. The story per se, is not bad. Unique and incredulous in parts. Irfan Khan however totally makes a # of it. He looks (and acts) agitated/distant/worried in all the scenes. Even the scenes that call for the portrayal of normal demeanor. Irfan Khan = over acting + over rated. Mahi Gill and the actor who has played the Major do a good job though. Just watched the movie and all I can say...it was great. Irfan Khan was at his best. 3/10 is an awfully low score you gave. :headshake: I love rustic dehaati movies and Paan Singh Tomar delivered. :hatsoff: 8/10 for me.

Sidhoni Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Finally watched Kahaani... a truly awesome movie... one of the best..!!! Sujoy Ghosh, Vidya Balan :hatsoff: The spoilers and rumours about the movie's plot ruined it a bit for me but still, this has to be the best suspense movie I have seen... :hatsoff: 9.5/10 :hatsoff:
Tiger80 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 They were not showing any reality. They mixed fiction with reality and that is the freedom they take in Cinema. It was not a documentary' date=' which will show real things. It is a fiction film just to entertain. Take movies just for that purpose, not for think about reality. It is presented as Bond cum Bourne and those films are not real as well.[/quote'] Its true that movies don't show any reality, but i Think there is trend in Indian movies to have soft corners for terrorists from the time of Fanaa ,and showing them as victims.
Zelig Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 lucky.. 2 months ago for me every night was a movie night dont know much abt butch cassidy when ur done.. tell me how it is :two_thumbs_up: I've already seen all those movies except Man on wire Butch Cassidy...is one of the best Westerns out there.
