Zelig Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Angel of Evil - 3.5/5 Italian mafia movie based on real life story of the country's notorious gangster, Renato Vallanzasca. I'm a sucker for gangsta movies :agree: I'm in love with the actor who played the protagonist, Kim Rossi Stuart. He has got to be one of, if not, the most handsome actor in the world
vvvslaxman Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Saw this movie WRONG MAN on TCM. Based on a true story. That is the only movie Hitchcock directed based on a true story. Loved it.

phaedrus Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 saw Tintin, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and XMen First class on the flight to India. Finally saw Avengers here. Liked them all.
MonishaSarabhai Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 i watched Players online a few days back. it must be a rip-off of not 1 but 2-3 Hollywood movies. :hmmm: Vinod Khanna wants the players to rob gold worth 10,000 crores because he wants to build the world's biggest orphanage :giggle: there are some really crazy dialogues :D and inspite of the players' bad acting, the movie is not boring 6/10
bangladeshifan Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Dictator- Boring;5/10 its absolutely alright u found it boring. sense of humor varies person, to person place to place. which is humor in one country can be gibberish in another. but in this movie punches came in a cluster every few mins. which is not only brilliant but also very rare. not to mention abt the uniqueness. nd when i say uniqueness it doesnt mean the punches or jokes whatever u say (many of em were not) but the way they were presented. in the end part of the movie when Aladin gives the speech abt democracy nd dictatorship the msg may not be unique but the way they presented it was amazing. mind blogging stuff. sorry for quoting u but many members may decide not to watch this brilliant movie bcs of ur post thats y i did.

youngindia Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Please suggest good French comedies (like the Dinner game / Le dûÃer de cons ). are you ok with 50's 60's? try louis de funes -fantomas series,le grande vadrouille. bon voyage., i watched recently
youngindia Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 In darkness(2011)- polish another ww2 movie from poland, nominated for best foreign film in the oscars. a ordinary polish man who initally protects jews for petty reasons turns more alruistic with time and infights. "kalifornia" 1993- under rated brad pitt movie with pitt as a dangerous killer. very good.surprised why it didn't make an impact "summer of sam"- from spike lee its about the infamous son of sam who terrorised NY lovers who "park" at night.(i was explianed about "parking" by a 14 yr old american teen during a bus trip!) lots of soft porn amidst the killings as it features a cheating husband as the main character.
gaurav92 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Not 1 or 2 Hollywood movies' date=' just the Italian Job and its a scene by scene copy paste.[/quote'] Yes. And its a horrible copy at that. I'd give it 2/10, nothing in that movie is worth commending
Zelig Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 O Homem do Ano (The Man of the Year) - 3.8/5 If you are a City of God fan, you will love this Brazilian flick. One of the best preludes in cinema - "Before you're born, someone, maybe God, defines exactly how He's going to F your life. This was my theory. God only thinks about men at the starting line when He decides whether their life is going to be good or bad. If He's in a hurry, he makes a war or a tornado, and kills off a whole bunch of people without a thought. But He did think about me." As good as the Goodfellas - "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster."

Its ok. I laughed more in the Avengers.
