To be exact, Kaiju are creatures farmed by aliens to attack earth. In fact the movie starts with a line, "I always looked up and wondered if there are aliens up there. Something like that.[/quote'] They were wrong. Kaiju are "strange mosters". The people have been fooled by the Kaiju. The "Aliens" were the cockroaches sent from Earth which developed a civilazion in saturn. Even before these robots, Jet jaguar has fought these kaiju. Concept wise, not too intriguing.[/quote'] The reason why Distrcit 9 is brilliant is because it is not just a very good action thriller, but also the way it deals with themes of racism and xenophobia- not set in S Africa for no reason. The film is based on real life events about a large area (called district 6) that was forcibly made whites only.

Except I loved the 3D it hurts my head but this movie looked awesome in 3d..and they added to action :two_thumbs_up: if only my head hurted less during and after the movie :cantstop: also most of times what i hate about these movies is that in trailer they show action but in movie its 90 percent humans talking ..its like they dont have enough money for cgi..imo iron man 2 disappointed me cos of this reason only.. but this movie was great ..dont think much just enjoy the ride..i see plenty of movies where u need brain but that does not means u cannot enjoy this..

During that time, the Africans are called as "Prawns" like they call the aliens in this movie. Also de-constructed the Alien invasion genre, and holds an awful lot of metaphors and symbolism (Cat food = Drugs, District 10 = Concentration Camps etc., )
