DomainK Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Watched Ghajini. Its a piece of crap. Much worse than what I had expected. I had earlier made a statement that if though I had not seen Ghajini, I was sure that it was better tha OSO. I take that back. After watching Ghajini, I am sure that OSO is a better movie.
Gambit Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Saw Ghajini. Was awesome. Not a copy of Memento at all.

DomainK Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 two possibilities there: 1.ghajini is REALLY REALLY CRAP(i havent watched it) 2.u havent watched OSO:haha:,have u? The difference between the two is of expectations. OSO was always supposed to be a no brainer and thats what it exactly was. Ghajini was supposed to be a good movie and turned out to be totally crap. Let me explain in cricketing terms. OSO is like a T20 match. You go there knowing what to expect and you get that exactly. Ghajini- you go to watch an india australia test match and you find that both team are playing their b-grade players who come and swing their bats at everything and the match gets over in 40 overs. You can say that both matches are the same- 40 overs of senseless hitting.......but I would say that the test match was a farce, but the T20 was good. Like that, OSO was a better movie.
Lord Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 cant as I dont have a mustache ... no matter how I change my facial hair my 1 pack ab is very difficult to hide :two_thumbs_up: then HAVE a big fake moustache.i'm sure y wont be recognised:giggle:

Gambit Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 You guys seriously have some high standards. Take most Hindi movies for what they are - pure entertainment. Don't expect Kurosawa(or whoever that posh Jap guy was) style cinema in every movie.

Don't expect Kurosawa(or whoever that posh Jap guy was) style cinema in every movie. Hehe, I'm going with the lowest expectations ever. I'm forced to go as we all want to watch a movie together and this is the only option. I do respect Aamir's acting.
Ram Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I will ALWAYS be shocked if someone says that an Aamir Khan movie is 'crap' coz a) That guy never chooses crap scripts.. Look at his recent movies( Lagaan, Dil Chahta hain, Mangal Pandey, Rang De Basanti,Tare Zameen Par)... All so varied and different scripts. So, bottomline, he never chooses to do crap movies. b) The guy's one of the most committed actors. I recently saw the video about the making of Lagaan and the kind of work and sweat that the film's unit put into making that film was mind-boggling. So, if I am going to spend 150 rs/$12 for an Aamir Khan movie, I will always know its going to be money well spent.

suraj Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Ghajini was not crap by any stretch It was a good movie- just not great but don't know how it can be called crap
Ram Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 And just as an FYI, A.R.Muragadoss( the director of both the Tamizh and Hindi versions of the movie) is a fine director. He's not the type to reel out a movie every 6 months. His scripts are VERY high class and well chosen. And something that amazes me as a Madraasi, is the continous impact that Tamil actors/directors/cameramen continue to have on Hindi cinema. Starting from Hema Malini to Mani Ratnam to A.R.Rahman to now Muragadoss. P.S; will move this post if it distracts from the main thread.
Guest Hiten. Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Can there be something thats ridiculous than that? I haven't seen the movie yet..... But I was amazed that people loved this movie given it's crappy storyline ...Srk +chopra's are ruining the industry's revival
Ram Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I haven't seen the movie yet..... But I was amazed that people loved this movie given it's crappy storyline ...Srk +chopra's are ruining the industry's revival Honestly though, you gotto give credit to SRK. He knows what it takes to sell a Bollywood movie, he's worked that out perfectly. As critics, we can say what we want about his movies, but ultimately what counts is the collection. And given that, he IS the undoubted Baadshah of Bollywood. And to be fair to him, the message he is trying to send in ‘Rab Ne Bana..’ that good looks aren’t as important as true love/good heart is a good one, but surely, he could conveyed the message without some glaring loopholes in his script.
