Planes not getting thorough inspections? but cant be the reason for this crash though both these pilots combined had done 13K hrs & 100 landings in m'lore alone . lack of experience is not the reason clearly .

coffee_rules Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Growing up, I had heard about the runway being on a hill/hillock in M'lore. The planes go up on the hill and then take off from there. I always used to wonder what if it doesn't take off and go down the hill. Alas, it really happened. I think this is the second crash in Mangalore, like this. Earlier, the plane had gone down the hill and nobody luckily were injured. How can they allow such a runway. Now, the UPA govt in the center is using this mileage to berate the BJP local govt. Poliiticians, don't waste time. I had thought civil aviation was a cental govt responsibility.

He was flying back with his daughter in law and the kids . very depressing really .

I will tell you what I once landed in Madurai in an AirBus -- the plane absolutely had to touchdown within 10 inches from where the run way started and -- it stopped like 10 inches from the other end of the run way. Scared the hell out of me! No room for error what so ever ! Oh yeah we have some air ports which use as international terminal without adequate facilities.
