I think we should chase in all the matches in this tournament, because with this bowling line up i dont think we can defend any score at all. Vinay Kumar is a joke of a bowler, i have no clue how he got picked in the 20-20 squad in the first place. 2 fast bowlers and 3 spinners are the way to go about it, if not i am sure today's result will be the order of the day for the remaining matches as well. On a positive note good to see Rohit scoring a ton, hope this is the break/confidence booster that he needs to go on to bigger things in international cricket.

Agreed that India is testing their bench strengh in a pointless series... But guys you shoud admit, it does hurt to see that kind of bench strengh?? I, personnaly am very exited when Pak play a yougster or any team play a yougster to see what he will do, the same for everyone. And that should have been very painful to see that your futur stars : vijay, kholi, raina, sharma, mishra, dinda, yadav lost to zimbabwe... There is no harm in admitting this...

From the Cricinfo report India's 15-member squad consists of four specialist batsmen, two wicketkeeper-batsmen, three bits-and-pieces spinners, and bowlers. Just for that... a sacking is probably not too harsh Badri and possibly Nayyar (who scored a ton, did he not, in the match he played for Ind A vs Saffies- so he can clearly bat) to name two should have been on this trip. I think they were a liittlle bit overconfident..effectively assuming YKP and RJ could be specialist batters.

^still its bench strength. Yes we should have won against Zimboks, but we did not, that was disappointing, but in the end we know we fielded our most inexperience bowling attack of last 30 years. So we are not going to ban our players for that

That is the whole point isn't it. To test whether this is our future. We can't make decisions on one loss. If that is the way we had to make decisions then just because we lost one ODI against the Bangbros in 2007, we would have banned all our players. This is a test and those who will successfully come out of this might go on to become the nucleus of our future teams.

The batting line-up certainly had some players who will be playing Test cricket in some years time, but the bowling was not of that quality - you mention Mishra, fair enough, but the three seamers were all on debut. The average number of ODIs played by this side is 24 - even the Zimbabweans have 57 despite the restricted opportunities in recent years. No loss is nice but you have to look at the context of this series. More than the results, the guys who can hold their own in this tournament where there are no seniors around is what will count.

if our bench cant beat this team, then future looks bleak.I dont understand on what basis Vinay Kumar and Dinda were selected, for just series or for future.if it is for later god save us all. who the hell they are actually, Yadav is kid , he will get better,But other two are just cut out for International cricket. They playing so much IPL but still we have not found any new talent emerging.

wot are you guys rambling about? we should be proud that we are genuinely helping the Zimbabwe team gain some much needed respectability in world cricket. Obviously if we send our first team the poor buggers will be massacred with Sach n Sehwag obliterating them :dontknow: the only way we can develop zimboks cricket is by letting our 2nnd team play them and bowl our best trundlers at them at consistent bad length. :hmmm: dont you want more competition in world cricket? :dontknow:
