mastana Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Lankans ready to tour Pakistan again: Envoy KARACHI: Sri Lankan Ambassador to Pakistan made it clear Friday that the last year’s terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team has failed to hit the cricketers’ confidence to play in Pakistan and they would tour the country whenever they are invited. Talking to The Sports Encounter on phone, he said that whenever the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would invited the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for a bilateral series, his country’s cricketers would have no problem playing in Pakistan. Ambassador further stated that the Sri Lankan government was content with the way Pakistan has probed the terrorist attack on the Lankan cricketers and added that his side is waiting for an invitation from Pakistani side for a bilateral series. On the other hand, PCB Chairman, Ijaz Butt, has appreciated the idea by the Sri Lankan Ambassador. He told TSE that at present a Sri Lankan tour is not on cards due to a tough ICC future tours programme, but as soon as the window appears, the PCB would invite SLC for a bilateral series. http://www.sportsencounter.com/news/cricket/lankans-ready-to-tour-pakistan-again-envoy-4613.html
Sachinism Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Its not really a move forward, because Pakistan is a mess, attacks happening practically everyday. If the terrorists want to be noticed, they will go after the cricketers again I think they have a larger pool of players now, not worried about losing a few :dontknow:

bhanu Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Its too risky to host any cricket right now in pakistan i say lets wait atleast 5 years...

Pak_Forever Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 If true then I don't have words to appreciate Lankans. But I don't want any team touring Pakistan as long as Butt's disgusting presidential security will be on the offer. Once he's kicked out then for sure we can work on tours.

Teams have toured Pakistan regularly for ages without anything going wrong. It was only one time thing that attack on poor Lankans happened b/c of the joke security that was provided by our joke cricket board. As long as Pakistan provides better and strong security, I don't see much issue with international tours in Pakistan. And yes a little more stable Pakistan will also certainly help.
DomainK Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 wow....this unforeseen neighborly love makes me emotional.:((

I will try not to laught at the statement. If AK-47s -- firing at you in broad day light relentlessly is not an issue -- -- not exactly sure -- WHat would be an issue! And this ever optimist Paki -- he will never stop comparing that shyte hole of a country to India. I can only sigh!
