Just to clear up what I think is a significant misunderstanding – When they say breastfeed, what I think they mean is that the women will take milk from their breasts, put it in a bottle/container and then give it to their male colleagues, acquaintances etc, not literally breast feed the dudes.. I think one of the clerics actually issued the fatwa requiring the women to directly suckle the men. I wonder though whether women produce milk all the time, I am not an expert but I think they need to be pregnant or nursing to produce milk. I dont think the women are actually going to go through with this, its probably just a threat to raise awareness of their plight.

Don’t know if lactating women can or cannot produce milk, but I bet there’s no direct breast-feeding. Dude, these loonies don’t even want woment to expose their arms, do you think they’ll issue an edict that involes nudity? But you’re right, the plight of women in many Muslim societies is so pitiful, it aint even funny. Its almost as though they consider women as a commodity that has to preserved and protected. ^ I am sure the original intent of the fatwa was just to feed the men (acquaintances, male coworkers) with milk from the women’s breast. Definitely no suckling. The theory is, the milk will help develop a maternal relationship b/w the women and the men and reduce chances of adultery. Btw, I don’t know why we are even trying to find logic in a patently illogical situation.
