Javagal Srinath (Kannada: ಜಾವಗಲ್* ಶ್ರೀನಾಥ್*) pronunciation (help·info) (born August 31, 1969 in Mysore, Karnataka) is a former Indian cricketer. He was a frontline fast bowler for the Indian cricket team until his retirement, being the only Indian pace bowler apart from Kapil Dev to take 200 Test wickets, until Zaheer Khan achieved that milestone. At his peak, he was arguably one of the world's fastest bowlers.[B] One ball that he bowled during the 1996 tour of South Africa measured 156kph. He also clocked 154.5 km/h at the 1999 World Cup[1]
Source: wikipedia 154.5kmph = 96mph :--D Javagal Srinath was/is the fastest Indian bowler ever.... I hope he comes over to the Indian team as the bowling coach. Only one fast bowler can teach/coach another fast bowler. I dont know if he can coach though...

T. A. Sekar, the mentor of many of our current pacers at the MRF academy. Ever since he left MRF (for a IPL stint with Delhi and now Mumbai), the pacers of the country have sufferred. Get him as the bwling coach right now.

Prasad was doing an excellent job with the team till he got the sack. A few T20 and ODI losses, the T20 losses largely due to inept batting, and we forgot the success the team had in England, Australia, and New Zealand with Prasad. It has been a year since he was sacked and this board was clamoring for his sacking. Our bowling continues to get worse with each passing day.

Exactly! What people easily forget is that he was instrumental in getting young bowlers like RP Singh/Ishant/Sree even Zaheer to bowl with great wrist position to get the most out of the conditions. He was categorically blamed rather than actually supported by the BCCI. It's up to BCCI and domestic teams to create better fitness facilities and coaching which would help our fast bowlers. It's been months since he was fired and even know Kirsten and others coaches have made it clear that even they are fitter than some of the players on the team. I suppose that's Prasad's fault as well.

Has anyone asked Gary's pick Eric Simons why Ishant speed and radar has been off and what he has done to recitify it.going by his latest interview Gary has no idea about bowlers he is just passing the blame on players. By the way I dont think prassad was that great, he taught all his bowlers to cut down on speed and accuracy which was his forte these guys it seems have only learnt cutting the speed down and forgot accuracy. If you remember he told in an interview Ishant picked up flaws in IPL1, but did not do anything to rectify them.RP Singh also was lost during his tenure only.He just happened to be the coach when guys like rp/Ishant came up thru the system. In my view he is the main architect of their demise. He talked big but did nothing.
