Bhajji's attitude in this Test - absolutely pathetic

Performance should be analysed over a longer period (like the one give earlier of 16 matches) and not just the last match.. The bottom line is, as a senior bowler, Bhajan doesn't gives any confidence like the one we used to have about Kumble of getting wickets, no matter what the conditions are..Kumble has even bowled with a broken jaw, so please leave aside the BS of Bhajan playing being half-fit and doing a huge favour on India..

So Bhaji was not a big contributor in us winning that match? You feel he did not do well in that match?
Where did I say that? Can you quote or are just blowing gas again?
doesnt change what i said. he only took 1 of those wickets on day 5. and bhajji could have had the biggest wicket - amla - if he wasn't dropped by vijay. plus anyone who watched that match can tell you who the better bowler was on day 5, i dont think mishra could have got a well set morkel with 17 mins to go before stumps, india were even trying tendulkar at that point.
Of course more is expected from Harbhajan - Mishra has played a handful of tests and does not have the experience to close out matches like Harbhajan can. Not sure why day 4/5 are relevant. Fact is Mishra more than played a part in the win and was hardly 'useless'. All of Smith, Kallis, and de Villiers were dismissed off good balls and were not gifted wickets. And Harbhajan had a very good match as well, though it was after a pretty lean period. Hopefully, he will get back to form for the remaining tests.

"So they guy played for India despite being half fit. He paid through pain and sacrificied himself for country yet gets slaughtered for it." OMFG, you make out like he was in the trenches and went over the top to No Mans Land for Ind, pathetic! Bowling afew overs and to the standard he bowls them frankly, that hardly constitutes pain! Sacrifice? You want to talk about sacrifice, that's when parents in India have little food and forgo their share to feed their kids. Just a spolit brat whose antics were shown in the Synonds and Sree slappng incident. I MEAN WHICH OTHER TEST TEAM PLAYER SLAPPED HIS OWN TEAM-MATE? He is only in the team as has friends in Tend and his Dhoni's Loverboy! Then I read he wants captaincy at some point, OMFG what planet is he living on?

You seem to have the views of an Ind selector' date=' blind to any criticial analysis and maintainng without justifable cause that all will work out good![/quote'] Well the justifiable cause is that we are No 1 in the world. So showing a bit of faith in proven performers is hardly otrageous. I mean dropping someone with 350 test wickets , who is the 3rd highest wicket taker of all time for India and is ranked number 8 in the world (indicator of current form) is the stuff of madness.

HE cannot be dropped as he is a senior player no matter how much he behaves irresponsibly and prerforming in one match every series..The issues is that the other spinners are becoming useless and are not threatening him..These new spinners should be ashamed of themselves..They should work hard to grab whatever opportunities they get (example: how Swann displaced Panesar). Unless the performance of new spin bowlers improves, Bhajji will keep on taking things granted knowing very well that nobody can drop him as there are no better options available. These new spinners should be made to stand in a line, naked and should be whipped by Arizona Cacti..

Please give evidence of this so called irresponsibilty. Or are you indulging in lazy sterotypes?

day 5 is relevant because it was the most important day of the match. a strong performance there would be the difference between series draw and a series loss. and on day 5, mishra was useless - very comfortably negotiated. anybody who saw the match would agree. had ishant and mishra bowled a bit better than maybe we wouldnt have needed bhajji to bowl with a slave's workload for 50+ overs. anyway, we are getting away from the larger point that i made with my first post - which was that bhajji's position in the side cannot be put in danger because the other spinners hadn't done anything special and picking them over bhajji wouldnt improve the team. people should keep that in mind before they get super critical about harbhajan.

Bowling leg side darts on a regular basis..( I don't think he as any compitition in the cricketing World in this pathetic aspect).. Not trying to improve his bowling and adding more variations in his bowling.. He used to bowl Dusras. Now he just bowls a straight one, at the most. When he wears a full sleave, why does he fears to bowl a dusra? I don't think he will be called for chucking.. He doesn't works hard in his bowling or fitness.. Fielding with one hand and trying to deflect the ball to the stumps, most of the time, when throw comes to his end..usually he never fields cleanly when any throw comes at his end. He always tries to first save himself by jumping here and there and then stares angrily at the fielder to tell him that never ever throw the ball at his end.. There are many other examples..

Did you actually watch that game. Everyone who watched it hailed his match wiining bowling. However, your blind hatred is dismmising his match winning bowling in that game. So basically if bhaji wins us the game and takes the wickets then no credit is given as thats his job. If however, he does not take wickets he gets slaughtered. Blind hatred.
Obviously you didn't watch the match. If you did you would have noticed Zaheer Khan picked up 4 top order wickets in SA's first innings when Bhajji couldn't go through the top order. If you did you would have noticed that Amla won the man of the match award not Bhajji. If you did you would have noticed that Bhajji got 72 overs and almost constantly bowled on the 5th day so ofcourse he was going to pick up the most wickets. Yes Bhajji did well, but that's what you have to expect on a fifth day wicket with SA massively under pressure and Bhajji getting through long spell after long spell. And you're a complete liar and a bad one at that. Show me one post where I dismissed his 5 wicket haul. But you can't, because you lie, exaggerate and whine like a little crybaby. :cantstop:

Zaheer had a knee problem so didn't bowl on day 5 and in the last 50 overs it was Sharma who picked up two wickets. Bhajji got the last one.

In the over zealousness to defend HS, dsr(KT) & co. are not reading the criticism leveled on bhajji here. If you read the OP, the bowling (despite being trash) was excused. Benefit of doubt for flu given. But the attitude exmemplified during the batting (twice) is inexcusable. Even rookies were fighting it out, and this guy continues to have brain farts (if he has a brain) That is the criticism

Pot calling the kettle black. He is our 3rd highest wicket taker in tests with over 350 test wickets. Care to comment on that?

So you are not happy with his batting and launch the attack based on that? The fact is that he is not a batsman but a bowler. If I was you and would focus more on the batsman who flopped

You wanna blame bhajji for his batting? What did Gautam do?

atleast Gautam did not gift his wicket by wild slogs.he had technical issues n Malinga got him on both occasions by good deliveries Bhajji,OTOH,played irresponsibly to be kind.in first innings wen we were loosing wickets n needed consolidation,he stepped out n played a comppletely needless slog, n gifted his wicket.that too moments after he was let off by Murali..in the 2nd innings wen we needed to defend n draw was only possibly,he again played a needless slogsweep n gifted his wicket.if he had stuck around for a hour or two,who knows it might hv been 0-0.its not as if he doesnt hv the technique to play spin, even Ojha played 40 balls

I agree some of these comments are madness!! He's always gone through patches where he hasnt taken many wickets but then performed well and won us matches but as iv said previously him and Kumble complimented each other brilliantly and now being key bowler maybe is too much pressure for him? I havent watched this match but hes never been a big turner of the ball and Ojha didnt expectly do much better. Our main concerns should be our lack of 3/4 good pace bowlers who will win us matches not Bhajji on his own. In this thread we are blaming Bhaji for the failure of SHarma, UV, Mithun, Ghambhir and Ojha which is unfair.
