Rajiv Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Tony Greig and Mark Nicholas were going mad with rage when Mike Hussey and Ed Cowan were given out to questionable decisions in the 1st innings. But we did not hear a single peep from either of them when both Ponting and Hussey were given not out on decisions, had they been referred, would have been overturned. Its ok to be critical of something, as long you are consistent with your criticism. The more we get to listen to partisan hacks like Nicholas and co, we realize what a gentleman somebody like Lawry is. For the non-Channel 9 viewers, there was actually a very heated exchanged between Lawry and Greig in the morning over his repeated cheap shots at Indians. details..
Ram Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 details.. Well, they were showing the replays of Rahul Dravid being bowled off the no-ball by Siddle and Tony Greig was trying to create a controversy out of thin air. Bill seemed pretty pissed by it and said something along the lines of êt was a no-ball, lets just move on..? which was swiftly followed by a pretty heated exchange b/w the two. A while later, the cameras were showing some Indian fans in the crowd holding replica of the 2011 world cup. Greig sensed the opportunity to start his India bashing and said something along the lines of øell, that is one trophy that they still have.. They became no.1 in test cricket shortly after that (lulzz), but were knocked off by England..? Lawry quickly cut in and started talking about the game.

Heated discussion??? lol looks like lawry avoided tony no heat in there
Ram Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Heated discussion??? lol looks like lawry avoided tony no heat in there By day-to-day commentary standards, it was pretty intense. Even Ian Healy sensed the tension and tried to crack some lame jokes.

For the non-Channel 9 viewers, there was actually a very heated exchanged between Lawry and Greig in the morning over his repeated cheap shots at Indians. To be honest, I've found Mark Nicholas to be fair on most occasions. You must take into account the fact that he is an Englishman, and trying to hold on to his job in an Australian commentary box, so some artificial bias can be expected of him. I've never known him to be bitter about any team, as Greig is towards India. Its one thing going on and on about your team, like most Aussie commentators do, and we expect that to happen after their dominance for 2 decades. But Greig vs India is an altogether different matter, its personal. You can easily sense the racist undertones when he's talking about "These Indians" as he calls us, as though referring to some barbaric creatures who should be grateful for being allowed to play in Australia. He's also been taking digs at "These Indians in the the Star Cricket commentary box", even though its got quite a few non-Indians in there. http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/interview_wont-rate-100-centuries-highly-tony-greig_1556594

Even Ian Healy sensed the tension and tried to crack some lame jokes.[/quote'] Bill was totally pissed, any sensible person would be to be honest. I would be if some Indian commentator does the same against any country. Although most commentators now a days are biased, no one has been as pathetic as this imbecile old turd. He's not biased for Australia, actually he doesn't like Australia much too. It's just his hatred of India taking over. Used to like him in the past, never knew he was such a pathetic human being.

He uses "these Indians" as if he was talking about a different creature.
goose Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 At the start of the day Lawry bid good morning to Greig and said something like, 'Tony, so what was up with you yesterday, objecting to the no ball review?' Greig denied it, 'nothing, Bill, i wasn't against it'. At which point Slats comes in 'Are you two ok? feels a bit tense around here!'.

goose Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Greig says 'the reputation of the Indians as flat track bullies remains', Lawry retorts 'err well you're wrong, both sides have struggled'. Silence from Greig.... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.559634,0.100132
goose Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 He's on Ch9, spouting filth, ignoring him is not an option. We're not talking about some silly Twitter feed or subtle dig. Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 greig doesnt like india or the BCCI because they cost him money from the ICL venture he had a large stake in, so this attitude will persist. especialy if india keeps losing games. its so easy to kick someone when they are down. unles india wins a game or two, he wont be shutting up.

It is very offensive.
deathmonger Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Greig should refrain from speaking the truth. It is very offensive. unlike your team who has never been no 1.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Greig should refrain from speaking the truth. It is very offensive. truth? india got the number 1 ranking a full year and a half before they won the world cup.
Yoda-esque Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Greig should refrain from speaking the truth. It is very offensive. And you should get back to that hole you came from.
goose Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 India became test no.1 well before the WC you chief. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.559632,0.100123
