Recalled this from the recent test series. Kumar Sangakkara becomes the fastest to score 8000 test runs. And also went past Sehwag in the ICC Test Rankings to be ranked the number one batsman. And a good average of 55. As a keeper he averages, 40.48 while playing purely as a batsman he averages a staggering 76.54.

Sanga's average in the 4th innings is also very impressive, 1st match innings 50.11 2nd match innings 68.26 3rd match innings 58.97 4th match innings 41.88 But what I most like about Sanga is his appealing. He really brought a new dimension to it.

He'll definitly finish his careear as one of the greatest batsmen in modern era.. and a very innovative cricketer as well. Over the last few decades sub-continent fielders had all sorts of problems pronouncing 'how's that sir' properly. Sanga is the one who completely threw-away the *****y English praise and brought a pure sub-continentagiousness to it.. which I found really sweat and much easier for the umpire's ears. Someday people will realize how great he was for the game.
