Aaah, the fogey's choices.... I agree withyour choice of batsman and captain (IK's changes in batting order were so original and nearly always came off) but Malcolm Marshall (perhaps inspired by seeing the Marshall Law series, and listening to TMS on Short Wave) has to be better than Glenn McGrath

For Tests, for 1970-1990 period based on watching highlights and some games where were playing at the end of their career in very late 80s-early 90s, along w/ hearsay) Batsman: Sir Gary Sobers or Sir Viv Richards or Gavaskar Bowler (fast): Marshall or Hadlee (many would say Lilliee too) Bowler (spin): One of the Indian greats: Parsanna or Chandra or Bedi Fielder: Kapil, Richards or Gus Logie Catcher: Solkar probably Captain: Imran Khan All-rounder: Botham probably, if you look at performances with the bat and the ball at the same time (in the same period) .... Some would say Imran but I am not sure if he delivered with the bat and ball at the same. Imran was first very good with the ball, then his bowling went a little down (after an injury I guess) then he developed as a batsman
