TM Dilshan banned on entering Zimbabwe

Reports reaching from the Zimbabwe government in Harare state, the African nation's government had banned the Sri Lankan star cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan from entering its country. The ban has been in active as per an alleged rape case that has taken place during the Sri Lankan cricket team's tour in Zimbabwe, which took place in June 2010. Reports state, Dilshan had raped a 17 year old white girl in an undisclosed location. Dilshan was the captain of the Sri Lankan team for this tour while 22 year old Angelo Mathews was the Vice Captain. Reports reaching theNEWSmaster state, Dilshan along with Jeevan Mendis and Dilhara Fernando had visited a night club in Zimbabwe where they had forcefully taken the 17 year old to the above undisclosed location. Following this 'abduction' interestingly only Dilshan had raped her. Police reports of the African nation confirm, DIlshan had also been in custody for about 24 hours where he was released by the authorities as the Sri Lanka Cricket interim Committee had bribed several hierarchical police officers and members of the media. The above two parties had been bribed US $ 13,000 to avoid the 'rape incident' getting exposed. Meanwhile unofficial reports reaching from the Sri Lankan government state, the Sri Lankan President had been aware of the incident from top to bottom. It is learnt, Dilshan is accused over several incidents regarding match fixing and several members of the Interim committee too had been chained with these allegations and as a result these unlawful activities are left behind without getting exposed!

Ok, there may be some truth in this, check this out, there are couple of other news coverage as well but this had the most comment. Anyway Africa and Rape go hand in hand, so can't blame the guy, it is just that Rape is In the Air there :D:

I do hope we get to know more about this story. If Dilshan is innocent, fine. In fact, I hope then some action is taken against this blogger so that people think twice before sullying somebody's name. But if he is indeed guilty, this must be one hell of a cover-up operation. There is the rape angle, there is a match-fixing angle!!! I don't know whether the ICC can get involved in the rape story but surely the ACSU can get involved to check out out the match-fixing angle. What IS the ACSU doing? What has it so far exposed? We can blame players a lot (rightly so, because it is finally in their hands), we can blame bookies/agents - but surely the ACSU has to take a big chunk of the blame also. If they had been more on the ball and put the fear of God in the players and bookies, then maybe we could have a better-run sport. I want this Dilshan story to be taken to its logical conclusion, one way or the other.

I don't think Dilshan could've done this type of things on a tour in which he is leading his team. I will not believe LAnkan players doing this on a tour and that too in a country like Zimbabwe. Either they're framed or this is a masala news...

Are you Sri Lankan? Anyway, this is not about all the Sri Lankan players. It is about just one player. The media works in strange ways. They go into overdrive when KP lets out his frustration of being dropped on Twitter. And, when there is something as serious as a rape charge, they seem not to care too much? Or maybe SLC did a great cover-up operation? Definitely want to know more about this. Pity I do not know Sinhalese so if you are Sri Lankan, it would be nice if you could translate some of these articles.
