What ever you ****ers say, there is far more evidence of existence of Jesus and Mohammad than any of the hindu Gods. There is specific timeline of events related to the former two, while most people don't even know what broad era were Ram et. al. supposed to rule....

What about the one that preaches hate and has left enough evidence of destruction in its wake ? Are we required to blindly treat it as a holy entity just because there is a billion of them that were born into it ? What happened to calling a spade a spade ? The sher-e-phorum just took a pot shot at Ram .. dont tell me you are capable of confronting him. I understand your tricky position. But pls dont try to tell us that you guys are fair. The bigger point is this : If you are a true secularist and believe in free speech you should never be seen locking any threads unless there is abuse. You very well know how frequently threads get locked as soon as ROP is being questioned. And the reason why ROP is being hauled over coal is not because we are all Hindus but because its followers quite frequently make their presense felt often operating proudly and boldy under the banner of ROP and worse operating exactly as is written in their "holy" books. You expect people to overlook their membership with ROP and treat it just as regular crime scene ? Sure . once maybe twice maybe thrice ... but there hardly is a week that goes by without these bozos making their presence felt. so quite obviously people start putting 2 and 2 together and this pisses off the secularists (Why ... Iam yet to figure that out but I digress) . Any attempt to explain is met with 1%, smilies, ridicule and ofcourse the tried and trusted thread locking. This is not what a mature forum should be. Yes there are hotheads on either side but if you set the standards of phorumming the way it is being displayed in the top 2 threads right now all you are going to get is more of the same ! Rise above the pettiness and set standards for debates and phorumming ettiquettes . Those who break rules deal with them ruthlessly even if it is me or anybody. No social structure can survive without rules and regulations. It applies for a internet phorum too. the problem was not because of the questioning itself but rather the manner in which it was done.
If you’re somehow implying that there’s some sort of anti-Hindu bias in this forum, then that is the most outrageous thing I have ever heard in a loooooong time. You’re just blatantly making stuff up to suit your point of view.

Guys fight as much as you want or hurl abuses at each other but at least show some respect towards the religious beliefs of other members of this forum. Please question as much as you can but the least that can be done is to be sensible and not be insulting or condescending towards any religion. There are many members on this forum who are not abusing anyone or insulting any religion. Why would you want to be insensitive towards their feelings? I know most of us are unknown to each other and are not friends but still there are some etiquettes of interacting on an internet forum. Weather GOD exists or not, it is upto you to believe. All I know is when someone is in real trouble and knows there is no way out then they pray. They pray to someone (you can call it Allah, Ram, Jesus, etc). PS: Don’t take offence at my post, this is just a suggestion.

How can you compare evidences? You are taking it in a very wrong direction. You have started a comparison and a competition of gods and so now let's start some more. Just because you know one side does not mean that is the only side. And also, hindu people ancestors are very likely to be hindus and try to compare it to the other religion where definitely none of their ancestors are likely to be of the same religion with the latest generation. So you definitely know what one truth is.

No. And btw, if there is one truth, it surely aint hidden in some cryptic shloka in Gita or verse in Bible/Quran. Probably Maxwell's equations is a start if you are looking for "one truth".

Tex bhai,

how do you know that a middle age white guy with beard and not a black slave was the messenger of God?
Fine.
how can you prove that Mother Mary was indeed a virginn who "miraculously" gave birth to Jesus and not a 16 yr old hooker who gave birth to an illegitimate child? and what about all those bullsh!t of Moses crossing thru egypt for 40 yrs and showing people the right of passage to the promised land?
I know you are just responding to some one but please see if you can avoid putting it this way. I know if you had known who Mother Mary and Lord Christ are, you wouldn't have said that. Others, It is well known fact that all the modern religions are man made and they all can be questioned or at least some of their practices. But all the great incarnations, if as humans we can't find out about them in our OWN ability, we shouldn't go as far as to state them in a degrading manner. The very definition of the word "Fact", is something that is known to have existed. So all these incarnations, none excluded, are well known to have existed. That makes it a fact. So stop arguing as none of you should go beyond that. I know we all are humans but am I expecting too much?

does that equation tell you who and how the universe was created ? Does it tell you how to lead life ? Does it tell you why you are here ? Not everrything can be explained by science (yet) which is why there is Religion.
I agree to some extent. Obviously most religious texts (except maybe scientology) do have a great amount of wisdom in them, and I have the greatest respect for Hindu texts (since thats what I am somewhat familiar with) but lets not confuse it with "one truth". We ain't going to find how our universe came into being by looking into Gita.

just because science cant answer these questions doesnt mean religion, with its dumbass fantasy fairy tales, can. sorry, thats a very illogical justification for religion. ppl can use religion as some sort of code to live their lives, but its utility cannot go beyond that.

your focus seems to be on fairy tales. :giggle: look at the gita and the vedas, that is our religion.

religions are fairy tales to me. 'our religion'? your religion. i am familiar with gita, but some of the **** in the bible and the koran is as implausible as the crap u read in fairy tales like jack and the beanstalk. honestly, i dont know how ppl take it so seriously.

k, i meant 'our religion' as in Hindus, speaking as a Hindu, not to mean 'your religion'.

There is NO evidence, and people like him have a mindset which asks for evidence before believing, what is wrong with that? If I sayI can fly and be invisible whenever I want, will you believe that or ask me for some kind of proof? People like him will ask for evidence before accepting this, people like you should believe it without asking for proof by your own reasoning.

I think there’s reasonable evidence to support the existence of Jesus the moralist/preacher. But of course, all the tales of him walking on water or converting water into wine were simply made up along the way by the followers of his new cult, just to romanticize his whole existence. But as mere individual, Jesus probably had a transformative effect on our morals, more than probably anyone else. His morals were far ahead of his time, much like Gandhi’s or MLK’s ideology of non-violence in the face of repression.
AFAIK, there is no evidence that all the preaching and morals that are in the bible were done by 1 single individual who was named Jesus, the most common belief among historians is that the preachings are from difffernt leaders during different time periods compiled together and attributed to 1 individual.

The point is how do you interpret any information. For people like you and him, any information of that issue is irrelevant while for other personal of other religions, they are interpreted as logic information and thus evidence. If you were smart enough, you should have researched already . And why question one religion, question other as well? The same question could be asked of the other religion if they are also stupid enough to believe in that religion and thus building those monuments.( Look I will not say names, but hopefully you get the point) And why don't you look at probably your ancestors history? The chances are likely that your ancestors were of other religion and forcefully converted like many other people ancestors.
