Raghav_12 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I would put Zaheer on number one in current situation. Of all players, his absence is felt most. Not exactly because he is best player of the team, but simply there is nobody, even close, to replace him. If I have to pick my team for upcoming SA tour, he would be first name to be pencilled. 1. Zaheer - Irreplacable and we need atleast one pacer 2.Sachin - Well nothing to say about. In this test too he was India's top scorer 3.Sehwag - Again irreplacable becuase of his uncluttered style of batting 4.VVS - Tempting to put him above Sehwag, but will not be swayed by recency factor :hmmm: 5. Dravid - He is still definitely important but somehow team has learnt to win without him doing INDENT]well. Putting him ahead of Gambhir as he holds crucial number 3 position 6. Gambhir - Have done badly in last few tests but will surely overcome that 7. Dhoni - If Cricket had allowed, non playing captain, I would not have him in my team. Have never been impressed with his batting or wicketkeeping. 8. Bhajji - Give other spinner another chance and he would do just as good. Kept him higher 'coz of reputation 9. Ojha - We don't have other good left armers 10. Ishant - Is here because of paucity of fast bowling options 11.Raina - Hasn't done badly at all but team has yet not become dependent on him. There are string of players to replace and who knows they can do as good as Raina did in last three test matches
Sid Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 its very funny to see how fans rate dhoni as a cricketer:hysterical:,i think he is safest keeper that we have ,diving while taking catches and being spectacular doesnt amount to being a good keeper, for me a keeper that catches and does stumping whenever the oppurtunity presents iiself is a good keeper, which dhoni does, last match was the worst i have seen him keep but that doent make him the worst wk in history of the game and as far as his batting is concerned again not the most technically equipped batsman but gets the runs more often than not
CSK Fan Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 And don't forget the importance of Dhoni's captaincy to our wins!
Shane Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Sehwag, SRT, Dravid, Laxman, Zak, Dhoni The rest are replacable.
Debutant Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Sehwag Sachin Dravid VVS Zak I cant think how to rank them. Can we really replace these guys. Gambhir Dhoni and Bhajji are massive too but arent performing right now. That leaves Raina and rest bowlers.Well we can comfortably replace them i guess.
urbestfriend Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Viru Tendu Dravid Laxman Khan Dhoni Gambhir Bhajji Raina Ishant Ojha
The Dark Horse Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 1.Dravid 2.Viru 3.Sachin 4.Laxman 5.Zak 6.Gambhir 7.Dhoni 8.Ishant 9.Bhajji 10.Raina 11.Ojha. This is not based on current form.
vaibhav_delhi Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 You guys Know Absolutely nothing 1. DHONI 2. Sachin 3. Dravid 4. bhajji 5.zaheer 6. laxman 7. sehwag
vaibhav_delhi Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 DHONI is one of the best captains in the history of cricket.
philcric Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 1. Sehwag - He's really something different. Gets the top billing because of the fear he puts in the opposition. 2. Tendulkar - Nothing needs to be said. 3. Zaheer - The only consistent pace bowler we have atm, who's bowling somewhere close to his potential. 4. Laxman - Played quite a few crucial match winning knocks in the last cpl of years. 5. Gambhir - A lil out of form recently but its more to do with his fitness imo. Perfect foil for Sehwag at the top. Great pair at the top makes a LOT of difference. 6. Dhoni - Still our best WK-batsman. Decent captain, much better than alternatives. 7. Ishant - Work in progress. He still has it in him to become world class. Also India is not spoilt when it comes to pace bowlers. Bowled some really good spells here n there. 8. Dravid - Sadly gone downhill for the last 2-3 years. Time to give Pujara a chance. 9. Bhajji - over-rated imo. Doesn't deserve a place in the team in away matches. 10. Raina/Ojha - Just started their careers. Unfair to judge them either ways.
ZodiaC Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 DHONI is one of the best captains in the history of cricket. :hysterical::cantstop::giggle:
CSK Fan Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Sachin needs to be right up there in consistancy. When Sehwag sparkels, Sachin is with him, when Dravid scores Sachin scores too. No wonder he has won cricketer of the year and it has been a great year for India
King Tendulkar Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 Anyone want to edit their lists to put sachin at number 1?:giggle: God is merciful, Sachin will forgive you:pray:
flamy Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 DHONI is one of the best captains in the history of cricket. :hysterical::cantstop::giggle: :haha::haha: dude vaibhav, what do u mean one of the? he is THE best.

King Tendulkar Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 1. Pujara 2-11. who cares That is ridiculously OTT! Hopefully just tongue in cheek! Other wise:whack:
saneindian Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 No rankings . All of them are equally important.
IT_Anxiety_NJIT Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 India # 1 ranking is due to following : Sehwag - 25 % Sachin - 20% Zaheer - 30% Rest - 25%
Manny_Pacquiao Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 That is ridiculously OTT! Hopefully just tongue in cheek! Other wise:whack: B->B->B->B->B->
