No, that teacher was torturing me like crazy. She made me the ‘outstanding’ (more like standing in the outside all the time) student of the class. :(( Daym, I still remember like it was like yesterday. Once we decided that we’re going to target the boy, we kept stalking him for day. Poor soul, he inadvertently wandered alone into the KG wing of the building one day (which is deserted after noon because school closes early for them). We sensed our chance, swooped on our prey and walloped his ass. Before he could even gather himself and see us clearly, we were all gone. It was a professional job well done. :two_thumbs_up:

Maybe the teacher who got beaten up did not have the courage to press charges or did not have evidence...or maybe he just decided to forgive the students.

Andy, Most schools are private organizations. They do not have to provide 'you' with an education and neither are yu doing a favour by studying there. There have been many instances of corporates firing people who critized them or their employees on facebook. Why should school and colleges be different? If you dont value the teachers and staff, why should you remain there? Are you doing a favour by studying in these instutions? In fact you are gaining much more than the moeny you pay as fees.

Getting a chance to be educated is one of the biggest boons of life. Particularly in your formative years, a teacher will teach you so many things even your parents cannot. students shouldnt abuse what is a privelage to them

They feel disciplining unruly students will help them rein in the more spirited students. I have seen with teachers who are lax with discipline having a very hard time controlling their students. Obviously corporal punishment in not right When I said that you gain so much more, I was not talking about marks or a degree or a certificate. Even the very worst teachers will teach you things which will remain with you throughout your life

Corporal punishment is a huge issue, no doubt about that. But there is a way to react to it. My experience says that most students have some teacher that they dont like for some reason or the other. Insulting the teachers publicly is not something that can be allowed. Students make fun of teachers, get crushes on them and all sorts of things happen. Students are at an age where they like to be rebellious and naughty and they dislike schools, studies and discipline. Once you allow them to insult teachers publicly, it will be very difficult for schools to do their job. However that does not mean that corporal punishment is not an issue. I still remember the story where a girl died of sun stroke after the teacher made her stand in the sun for several hours. Or the story of the student who lost an eye to the teacher's cane. Mostly physical punishment needs to be dealt with strictly and there are strict laws in place to deal with that. But that is not relevant here. The students in this case did not insult the teacher because of physical punishment but because she did not give them the grades they wanted. This is ridiculous and totally inexcusable. It's a trend that needs to be stopped immediately.
