So much Talent alongside so many Controversies!

Pakistan Cricket over the years have unleashed some of the legends of the game, it has produced magical bowlers, some fine batsman's. It has reached the heights of Cricket twice, once in 1992 when they won its first World cup, and again in 2009, when they stamped on the world cup glory in England. But they did all this with controversies being its right hand in its entire history. Even the greats of game like Wasim Akram were involved in stupendous acts, an act which is most disliked in any sport, the biggest enemy of Pakistan cricket known as Match Fixing. Match Fixing has haunted Pakistan again and again, it has struck at a point when Pakistan cricket gets a sunshine on its forehead, but always ends up getting a kick in the back side by these ruthless actions. Recently cricket has seen its darkest days, Pakistan Cricket at this day looked like dead and buried, I was shocked, the Pakistan Cricket Lovers were left speechless, the whole world was shocked at what they have come to know. A bright Young Star, who on his first tours to some of the top cricketing nations stamped its authority on the book of records. Its this 18 year old lad called Aamer who dented the hopes of many Cricket Fans. Muhammad Asif an artist in the field of cricket, a personality who previously bowed down in front of evil for the sake of money and quick fame had not learnt his lesson, it struck Pakistan Cricket when it needed its services the most. Among those two great bowlers there is another player who is involved in this stupid act too, involved as a volunteer and in a needless cause, the 5th captain of year for Pakistan team, Salman Butt, who fans thought knew the laws of the game, also sold its pride, its integrity, and beliefs for some cheap money. Match Fixing isn't the only villain for Pakistan Cricket, there are other forms of bad doings too which have been horrifying Cricket. The Ball tampering Act is another of the example alongside Dispute within the team being as one of the major culprit to this great game of Cricket. Last but not the least, the master of all these wrong doings, the Big Bang of Pakistan Cricket, which is route cause for these things and never a solution for betterment. Here am talking about Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which have actually seemed like BCP (Beggars Controlling Pakistan). A fine example of its horrible recruitment in all department of Cricket is the current set up working under Ijaz Butt. Who attacks people not with his brain, but by using fairy tails of its 70+ age, a board which doesn't look for its own solutions but provide others advise, bunch of people who don't look at its strengths but highlights its weaknesses. It basically does nothing which a Cricket Board must do in this 21st century. I know we all know that these are general problems with Pakistan Cricket, not just cricket same can be said about country itself and its other leaders. But me being Pakistani highlighting our own weaknesses is a one step up the ladder in my thinking towards the solution of all these problems. sorry , apart from Amir Pakistan hasn't produced any world class talents in years ...SB had a bit of potential with the bat, but that apart its a mediocre bunch ...even without the controversies they are not going to do any better , at least not in Tests .

What about our Umer Akmal. Yes, as I said in some earlier post Pak. should have dominated world cricket in the last decade 90s. But for all their indiscipline they would have been something close to No.1. They were still winning some games purely on raw talent. Talent seems to have dried up now atleast on the batting front. But good piece, CG.

I think CG wrote a very good piece there pointing out the issue with Pak, I find it amazing that instead of discussing the point he raised we continue to just slam the Pakistanis and act retarded. Awesome guys, continue the good work.

There is no doubt that if pakistan cricket was more organised they would achieve a lot more. However, the cricket mess is mereley a reflection of the country. They do have talent no doubt. However, to easy just to blame the board. Our board is also stupid and does everything it can to screw our team up but yet India still delivers. No doubt pak cricketers have wrong psyche. Match Fixing, in fighting, ball tampering etc. Pak fans do live under delusion they have tremendous players who are merley not delivering due to lack of organisation. Facts are pak batting has never been good enough. When you go out to bat its all about you v bowler(board,captain etc etc are irrelevant.) Pak will never be consistent as no batsman of quality, only ever have 1 or 2 good batters at one time. Compare that to big boys who will have 8 or 9 top batters to choose from. Thats why could not deliver in 90s despite brilliant bowling, batting was not good enough especially overseas when even the supposed one or two batters would get cruley exposed

Yaar, "Talent" is too over rated in IMO. Pakistan team has always been picking up theses "talents", what good is it if they doesen't go on to perform for a long period? Even the fans seem to be happy as long as one particular player "owns" some or the team "owniing/pwning" India some time in the 1900s, when many current fans were not even born. High time to nurtuture these talents than just discovering them every other day. I prefer a winning team with "non-talents" over consistent "loser-talents".

OP.please don't take any offence to my prev post (#19), I am just voicing my frutration over many of these guys making the wrong choices. Haven't seen the promising U.Akmal making any statements with the bat these days. Instead loads and loads of attitude! Aamir-another potential great, staring at a nasty scandal! The only exception in the current crop, I see is Fawad Alam who seems to have an excellent work ethic (may be less talented), but he doesen't seem to be as popular as the other "talented" youngsters. Colourful characters looks much better when they are equally good at their trade as well.

I remember I used to be a big fan of Ajay Jadeja and some what of Azhar.. but when I found out they were cheats.. I said 'forget them'.. not just me millions of other ppl did the same..
