Telecom giant Airtel is the latest in a series of corporates that have signed on the World No. 3 as a brand ambassador and Saina's endorsement value is understood to have reached the Rs 1 crore per deal mark. "She is really in demand. A lot of companies want to associate with her. She has already signed up with Airtel and at least four firms operating in areas such as food and infrastructure will come on board very soon," Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures Media Coordinator H Manjula said. Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures handles Saina's account. Saina already endorses the Deccan Chronicle newspaper, Adani Wilmar's Fortune edible oil and Herbalife's nutritional product range. According to industry analysts, Saina, who was charging around Rs 50 lakh per endorsement, is now able to command Rs 1 crore per deal after her CWG win. The higher rate is also supported by Saina's hat-trick of wins at the Indian Open, Singapore Open and the Indonesia Open Super Series in June this year. "Corporates are willing to pay that kind of money," Manjula added. Saina herself agrees that her popularity has enhanced her brand equity. "Yes, after winning the titles, my fee has gone up and I am getting a lot of endorsements now. I am happy that there is demand being created for sportspersons other than cricketers," Saina said. According to her, the Airtel commercials will be shot after she returns from the Asian Games to be held in China from November 12. The deal with Airtel catapults Saina into the club of leading sports and Bollywood celebrities, including Shahrukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and A R Rahman, who are either associated with the brand or have been in the past. Gujarat-based Adani Wilmar, which signed on Saina as its brand ambassador for a one-year period for about Rs 50 lakh in August, also said it is open to extending the association with her. "Though it is premature to say whether we will look at carrying on with her as the brand ambassador in the second year, we might look at that," Adani Wilmar COO Anshu Malik said.

Awesome achievement. She has a brand value of 1 crore now and nearing Sachin, Dhoni and SRK who are nearly 3.5 crore each per ad. Great going Saina. Dhoni is pwning everybody in the ad world now. Dhoni has got 24 brands, SRK has got 18 brands and Sachin 15 brands till now in 2010. Dhoni is clearly becoming the favorite this year though he was near SRK and Sachin last year. Saina also gave an interview today on CNN IBN. She said she has got everything but only misses on thing she loves. Her dad does not allow her to buy a car though she has brought her own separate house and buying another one soon too. She says she wants to buy just a normal Honda city which is quite inexpensive for her but still her dad is afraid and does not allow her. Somewhat remember my childhood too when dad did not allow me bikes in school/college as he was worried about accidents. LOL at our Indian parents who are sometimes too worried about their children. :--D

Why keep comparing the two?Sania did well in her time. Now it s saina's time .
Exactly Hope that Saina does not lose her concentration but by observing her it looks like she will not lose her concentration and get distracted. The only slight concern I had was during the CNN IBN interview the other day when she was not the normal serious Saina we know but then she said there are distractions and she would not be bogged down by that. She said that she is giving due time to her practice too and managing her time and that is what she needs to do. All the best to her.

She has the advantage that she can learn from Sania's mistakes. At least she should try not to make the same mistake...

They are both popular female sports-persons in a country that is deprived of them. One was hyped beyond her potential. Now the latter has won accolades while has been rewarded duly and is worthy of the rewards.

Bottomline: She won't get publicity anywhere near what Sania got because (in decreasing order of importance): 1). Sania was hotter by 20 miles 2). Sania is a muslim hence the million controversies. 3). Tennis is more popular sport

I personally find Saina Nehwal hotter(in a longer run:D). The way Sania talks is just off-putting.
