those who are saying he weak against short pitched bowling, then how are Raina, Nohit and Vijay against short pitched bowling we all saw how well they did in last two T-20 world cups. How many batsmen have won India an ODI from no 6 and that too chasing over 300 , he will a good asset. If all top order is doing its job all he needs to do is chip in with quick 20-30 which he can do very well.

Amazing innings. One of the very best ones, in recent times. His resolve to win the game was so evident feck the technique, he is bloody effective I think Pathan with this single innings, has pipped Virat Kohli for the No7 position.

specialists have stronger basics,better technique , better range of shots and hence more ammunition against better attacks. it was rohit who slaughtered nannes,tait and johnson in windies,was n't it? yusuf can't.his skillset is way more narrower and hence limited. that's the difference. The same delievries yusuf, struggles to put away, top notch specialists will put that to the boundary.

he has never killed genuine pace or top quality pace bowlers.have you seen him play vs nannaes for instance ? thats your problem. an aus/sa attack have the ammunition to contain him or destroy him because of his limitations.

what good are class and skills are if they cant help you to make big scores consistently. Rohit ihas been given so many chances just due to couple of knocks, in ODIS at no7 I will take YP over anybody.

they are young players who are still developing and learning. In the real world,the inexperienced players do not give big scores consistently.that's the job of established players. players take time to develop.that's the way it works.

\ you are just stating your likes. but its no jusitified when one see that 1 he does not have the skill set of a specailist and hence more limited player than them. 2 His dubious bowling skills means he is at best fake allrounder giving an imaginary balance. 3. he may be helpful vs sl or NZ but against aus and sa inthe crunch match , he will be mostly insignificant . In the end, there are a few players who can do the same demolition job without the same limitations and even if they don't bowl, they cam win matches with the bat vs better sides. hence he is not needed for India.maybe for a side like nz, he could have been very useful player.

DSR,i dont know why you think "class" amounts to everything in International cricket but it isnt.Rohit has unexplicable mental lapses in his innings which are not worthy of his "talent".i have seen this in other sports too where a college player looks man among boys in college but just cant bring it together at the pro level.

He has 2 odi intenational tons and averages 60 in first class cricket and he is only 23. God you guys write people of quickly! He has matured loads and is goinng to mature and get better every week. After wc he will get good run and deliver in odis. He will then force his way in to test side due to these performances. Never write of youth with talent.

Lets just say this innings has made sure he will go to SA and play ODIs there. He is now ahead of Jadeja (poor guy gets plenty of slack from ICFers), Rohit etc. So if we have injury he will be next on in.

I am definitely not writing him off,just pointing out that he has not even performed upto jadeja's level(and jaddu can bowl!!).
